Now we've had a good look at the teams how do you think the
standings will go?
This is mine. I think we are shaping up really good.
1. Central Coast (they look like a very professional outfit and have any amount of depth)
2. Adeliede (Yes they are 7th now, but these guys can play. Have great strikers like Djite, Agostino and Burns, will start winning soon)
3. Melbourne (I thought Hernandez would be a star but hes a fat waste of space. Playing OK but i think Adeliede and the mariners have their measure)
4. Phoenix (I think we have the star of the A-League (Felipe) and there Daniel and Smeltzy, not to mention Elrich and tim Brown to come in. We are a force)
5. Sydney (Should get better but i would love to see them miss the playoffs, Culina will get the sack, Patrick is average and weathers better in Cardiff)
6. Newcastle (Boring, and i think it's all down from here for them, maybe i'm wrong but they offer little on attack)
7. Queensland (Average, thought they would be better, look so stagnant on attack and all around average)
8. Perth (Someone on this forum summed it up nicely when they said "Dragecivic couldn't score with a 2 dollar whore in Luton" i'm pretty sure it's the same with the rest of the team)

I like your list, but don't think we will quite make it into the
top 4. Also I think that the Planes will finish above Sydney.

Saying Newcastle will miss the playoffs was just in hope that a
boring team like them cannot succeed

Hmmmm... not sure about the weather observation, coming
from a Wellyfornian... though from Brissy, yeah lol
The Roar have two games (that includes us, so hoping they don't) to get their season/squad/coach/fans on track... if not, it will get ugly... and Miron B-bergs calls for a team on the Goldie may suffer...

I don't see CCM winning the minor premiership, I actually think
they'll run out of puff in the second half of the season and
Adelaide and Melbourne are bound to start winning sooner or
later...so here's my predictions:
1. Adelaide - most talented team in the league, and I expect them to prove it by finishing top.
2. Melbourne - nowhere near as good as last season, but still have enough quality to finish in the top two.
3. Central Coast - the strong start will keep them up there for the playoffs, but won't be able to sustain it for the duration of the season.
4. Newcastle - boring, but effective. Solid defence will allow them to get into the top 4 just ahead of the Phoenix.
5. WELLINGTON PHOENIX - a more than creditable finish in the first season, but will land just outside the playoffs with a few defensive issues still to be sorted out. Won't be too far away from the Jets though.
6. Queensland - investment in Moore and Tiatto will backfire big time (and not just because I hate the bald midget with a passion). Underachievers of the season.
7. Sydney - a season that started badly will not get much better. Lack of a solid goal-scorer will continue to be the main problem.
8. Perth - the new Knights. Enough said.
Btw, I've tried to base these predictions as a dispassionate football observer...the Phoenix fan in me says we will make the playoffs easily...

hmmmm i'll have a go
1. Adelaide. as said before, most talented team in the league, we were probably lucky to take a point away from the game with them, they look strong and the goods to power through the season to minor prem.
2. Central Coast. Although yes they may settle down a bit i think the strong start to the season is an indication that they are the goods this year, especially watching so many draws around them, wouldnt be suprised if they take 1st, but adelaide to pip them for now.
3. Melbourne. Without a win yet, but it's only a matter of time.. (possibly a day or 2???!?) too much class, experience and talent throughout the park not to finish top 4, but with their start to pull them back to 3rd. Once they sort there injuries they will be there.
4. Phoenix. Trying to be as neutral as possible. Although i do believe we can do it, a lot of attacking flair (especially with Elrich to come, also the possiblity of George coming up with the goods) solid style of play and Riki behind them. Hoping the defensive issues sort themselves over time, we'll see.
5. Newcastle. not a bad side, picking them to just miss out this time. yes the boring play can be effective, but if there is a god not every free kick will take a deflection.
6.Sydney. They have the players. Don't look the goods at the mo. they could do better, but not unless they seriously sort there sh*t out and fast. they'll be looking to juninho in a BIG way.
7. Queensland. Well.. don't know much about them to be honest. just looking at results. at the mo they dont look the goods, possibilty of going up if sydney crash.
8. Perth. The knew knights may be a bit strong :P but still things are not looking bright for the glory. if there gonna sort something out and look like getting off the bottom. please wait anohter week!

a top four finish will be amazing, but our home games have to be
wins, with good hard thought results away from home!! I
believe any thing better than the Knights, Kings will be an amazing
achievement!! GO THE MIGHTY PHOENIX

First post!
Love the site, love the team!
We have to win (if possible) at home, starting with Perth tomorrow. It's a prime opportunity for us to grab a win.
On the road, unlike the Kingz/Knights teams, I actually feel we can get results. Every time the Kingz/Knights went to Australia, I somehow knew we'd get done 3-0, 4-0 and not put up much fight.
This team is different.
Top 4 is now a realistic goal.
