Anyone else left thinking about rikis tactics in NOT to use Felipe.

Anyone else think taking off Johnson was a dreadful choice

Few weeks ago he left me in the same frame of mind, sticking Costa on when we needed a goal (no disrespect to the boy)

It just does not seem logic to NOT bring on Felipe when we needed a goal.

Cant blame the ref for those two goals.

Yes the Red was wrong but you cant blame him for QLD countering from our set piece to score..

Ferrante on was a good choice jsut not for Daniel, and yes Felipe definatly should've come on.

Elrich never should've been Red Carded though.

not good sub options, we needed some creative influence entering the game. RThe phoenix played phucking great. Best defensive effort of the season, I am ignoring the scoreline.

Botafogo - Rio de Janeiro and Wellington Phoenix, my two teams til death do us part.

ferrante almost got us back in the game with that free kick. daniel did next to nothing all night.

thought we played really well in patches and didn't deserve the scoreline against us.queensland struggled to break  down our 10men[should be 11 anyway]and go to me a disputed penalty as player with back to goal and overhead kick the ball struck dodds arm that was already up.after that we had too chase the game

it appears that we're effectively down to just one brazilian now with felipe not getting on.

also, why the heck do we not play two up?  every week, 10 men or not, smeltz is battling away for scraps.

Yes.

1 month ago most people were saying he was our best player with many going as far as saying he was one of the best players in the A- league. He gets injured. His comeback game he isn't as impressive as he was previously and because of that doesn't get another chance? It's pretty normal for a player coming back from injury to be sub par...  Unless he is still carrying a niggle it annoys me that he isn't getting game time.

Johnson may have been taken off because he is on 3 yellows and Ricki didn't want to risk him being suspended next week in the frustration of the dieing minutes of the game?

And regarding Felipe - we don't know what Ricki knows.. Surely if he is in the kind of form that he was in the beginning of the season Ricki wouldn't be keeping him off the pitch.

We did play 4-4-2 this week req22. Problem is that the other one got sent off.

If I was Felipe, I wouldn't have been that keen to get onto the pitch at Suncorp stadium after getting flattened repeatedly last time ...

Ferrante did well, as for Brownlie, him well Ricky must know he can do something, but Covs would be a better choice

Oi Oi Edgecumbe... lets have a clean sheet

Ferrante had a ripper of a free kick that almost got us back into the match. Didn't agree with bringing Brownlie on, though. I've decided that he is below average.

Brownlie hasn't had a fair shot yet to show what he can do. Coveny has had chances and largely been poor.

I agreed with the subs, couldn't afford Johnson to get a card and suspended, so was right to sub off. Ferrnate is a work horse and covered well.

Brownlie will probaly get a run on or a good chunk off the bench next week with us down to 14 so he needs some actual game time.

And no reason to bring on Felipe with 10 to go and down by 2. Why risk him, ensure he's fit for next week.

With 10 men on the field only and with next week as hard as it is, herbert ensured he has all his players to choose from  that are avaliable. Thats smart managing!

Touch me Hits the nail on the head - this week is going to be crunch game - I think if we don't get a win at home we could be down to about 8000 people at the stadium. Felipe will be a big part of next week and to risk him after the hammering he got against the roar in the last game would be foolish.

Agree with the last two posts. Fair enough he took Johnson and Daniel off, both were 1 card away from suspension.
Although I thought Felipe could have come on instead of Brownlie.

I had a feeling that Ferrante was going to come close at least to a goal - his time will come :) I was chuffed when he was subbed on - hopefully his knee won't give him too much trouble.

I haven't really been impressed by Brownlie honestly, like what has he done really?

he must have got back some fitness , ricky put him on the bench

anyway, i hope he works hard in training this week, Sydney players will be drawn to him after last time's destruction of them!

Putting Felipe on was probably too much of a risk, it might have been better to save him for Sydney, rather than risk him getting injured in a likely loss after Seo's attempt to win the Oscars. After all, Queensland showed in their first match against us their vision problem in which they cannot tell the difference between Felipe and the football

Yea, I think they could have brought Filipe on when we were one down - but probably not worth risking after we were two down with not long to go.

Filipe must start against Sydney considering all the players away. And hoping he will cement his spot again.
