Just emailing Sky to complain - they're showing Syndey v Melbourne in basketball instead

An excellent idea. Stupid f**king sky, this is pretty much the biggest fixture of an A-League season and they don't play it. Fair enough, Netball on 1 and Cricket on 2 (we are in NZ after all), but what was on Sky 3 at 9? Premier League Highlights. Then the basketball in Melbourne... instead of the football? Come on...

Unhappy :(

Liverpool fan, cheers for the radio coverage link mate.

It wasn't a great game by usual expectations of this type of match. Lacked the intensity, especially in the first half, and very few chances. Second half picked up considerably, but it still didn't really hit the heights.

A draw definitely good for Phoenix. Let's hope we pick up the points at Suncorp tonight. Then it's very much game on for a top four spot.

Interesting... most of what I've read said it was the Melbourne kiddies instigating the trouble in the ground.

I swear if these wannabe hools f**k the A-League up and I never get the chance to take my boy to a Victory game, I'll hunt down and kill every last pre-pubescent one of them

Check out this classic comment on the newspaper website. As much as I hate Victory with a passion even I had to write in,

This is further proof that multiculturalism is a failed policy. Ethnic hatreds are still evident in these so-called ethnically-neutral clubs. Everybody knows that Sydney is backed by the Yugoslavian people and that Melbourne is a Greek/Italian/Maltese club. Rival fans organise brawls to settle ancient scores putting the safety of Australian families at risk. Ban this unpopular "sport" before inncocent people are seriously hurt. I wouldn't be surprised if the terraces are breeding grounds for Muslim extremists given Sydney's large Arab fan base.

The idiots who cause this sort of trouble aren't true supporters. If they were they wouldn't be doing things to destroy the league there team plays in.

I went to the Melbourne vs Newcastle game 2 weeks ago and there was a very very angry vibe going around (more so than at any of the other A-League venues I've been to after the home team has lost) so this news doesn't really surprise me. People throwing coins is disgraceful (I'll presume that is true), imagine if one hit a kid in the head or something...

I'll give you something worse to imagine. A mate of mine was hit by a coin in Turkey at an England game and lost an eye as a result.

Yeah that is awful and shows exactly why this sort of behaviour needs to be stopped as soon as possible. How to stop it is the hard bit..

I wonder if the sort of people involved in this stuff really believe they are good/hardcore supporters or are just non-football fans out to cause trouble? I get the feeling the idiots probably truely believe they are real 'passionate' supporters and don't realise the damage they can cause to the A-League, someone needs to educate them fast.

And we thought we had a problem? Still, we were first to react and try and rectify it. Now that the FFA are going to be monitoring Crowd behaviour with a microscope, I hope those idiots throwing bottles take heed.
