Everyone including Old knew it was a penalty.

What happened? I was at the game but don't recall.

Old knew, we all new, he was all over the sydney player, and blatent to the point of stupidity

I have to agree with the stupidity bit. Lets see, Bridges puts 3 shots into row Z and Moss is saving everything but Old would rather give away a penalty then let them settle it one on one from a wide angle.  Broke my heart.

am i blind or stupid but the article does not say anything about Joninho scoring or going off.

i saw after the game  on the stuff website  and also tvnz website they stated juninho scored from the spot they may have since corrected their error   

it was a penalty and i agree with most that if the player had got the shot off  moss would have saved it the way he was playing,brain explosion by old i think

Eight more matches, time to concentrate.  Still, I said I'd be happy if the Phoenix were not last.  Nice to have seen some classy footie.

definitely a PK. If the body contact was not enough, you cant grab shirts in the box and get away with it. I dont mind Old, but he should know better than that.

A few people have touched on this but I think the most pertinent facts are as thus.

1: Its 11-10 and we are playing possession game going backwards. Did anyone think to capitalise on the man advance and press forward, if not for a goal then at least into the attacking corners.
2: Moss put in probably the most amazing GK display I think anyone has ever seen. If he can play better jesus we are in for a treat.
3: Old was flat footed and beaten. He possibly needs a bit of coaching on being 'at the ready' which would tie in with his development.
4: The chap that got fouled was on the angle no going directly at goal with Moss advancing.


If you think about all of that, then why commit the foul? Youth and lack of experience that was.

we were left a bit exposed at the back thanks to Lia's terrible pass, but still under control if Old hadn't rushed forward, over-committed himself and then, as a result, grabbed hold of Bridges when he slipped past him. Moss was coming off his line quickly and still a bit of an angle for Bridges to score - certainly less likely to score from that than from a penno. v dumb Old
