TAB

You all might have noticed the TAB branding up on the site.

We did a bunch of stuff with TAB last year (remember the Biggest Collect?) and they're keen to do more this year. They've got some new folks on board and they're bloody enthusiastic about us, which is neat.

They're keen to engage with the local game too, which spins my wheels anyway, and they're going to put odds out for the Auckland City vs Phoenix game, which I will for sure put a punt on.

There's also this, which looks cool if you're an EPL nerd: http://tipping.premierleaguepass.com/

Quick question for you though, who has a TAB account and do you use it regularly?

Incredible stamina. No shame. Yellow Fever.

I have an account and use it regularly. Never huge money-wise but make bets between $5 and $20 very regularly.

Welcome TAB, good to have you on board!

I had one. But don't think I ever got it verified in a store,  then I forgot the password.

I've got an account somewhere. I think I stopped using it when I had to go into a branch with my driver's licence to get validated.

Should sort that out. In fact pretty keen to punt on Auckland City vs Phoenix, so there's some momentum...

That's exactly what happened with mine. Usually find it better to go into a TAB or use the one in 4 kings. Then I actually collect winnings, rather than just keeping it in an account where it doesn't feel real.

What do you class as small bets? I'm just curious.

$5-$10 per game, or I'll give a $1 multi a go and try my luck.
Initially just signed up for the Watch n Bet, but haven't used that in ages

I've had my account for fifteen years.  Back when I owned shares in harness racers I used to bet often but not in large amounts.

I have a TAB account and use to use it occasionally (esp. when I would run out of time or forget to go to the TAB) but then one day it started telling me my credit card number is registered to another account and declined it. So that was the end of that.

Fuck this stupid game

I have an account but its balance is zero, has been for ages. But reading thread has just reminded me 1) I have an account and 2) it's a way to watch lower league football online so I'll deposit funds this weekend. I use it mainly for football betting ($5 bets) but sometimes when I feel silly I'll have a bet on the horses/dogs (typically a dollar or so each way and the odd quinella/trifecta).

Funny story about TAB. My old man is a bit of a punter on the horses so I was showing him how easy it is to bet using the interwebs. I picked a meeting, race and three nags at random for a boxed trifecta and the bloody thing came in. Didn't pay alot, $60 or so from memory, but needless to say the old man was pretty impressed with just how easy it was!

I haven't had a punt of any variety in about 5 years. Used to love a wee dabble at the TAB but got tired of losing so gave up!

Only put money in when they offer free money back. For example, bet $10 on the abs and we'll give you $10 free + the winnings.

ive got a song that wont take long, Adelaide are rubbish.. the second verse is same as the first.. ADELAIDE ARE RUBBISH

As somebody who writes for the TAB, I don't have an account but I love the promotions and advertising they've got going, get amongst it as it might keep me in a job!

Lay off her. She's just saying she doesn't associate well with gambling. She's not standing on the streets with picket signs.

Have account and use it sporadically. In bursts I spend a bit (multiple small bets) then go off it for a while. Just topped up 50 bucks - prompted with the beat the bookie comp. Yes I'm a sucker for simple marketing.

You may find your account has been cancelled if you haven't used it for a year - happened to me last year - you also lose any money still in it- in my case only $10 - but still pissed me off when I went to log on and found it had been cancelled....

They dont normally cancel them, they  normally just suspended them and you need to reactivate them.Have had one for years and didnt use it for over 12 months  but managed to get it back up and running.

No, because we tried banning drugs and the Americans tried banning alcohol and people still did those things in a more dangerous form. But a glance at any media can tell you what the pokies do in working communities of South Auckland. So I support harm minimisation, but I don't like supporting those who make their living off this kind of social problem (TAB, Sky City etc).

And no, I don't even buy Lotto tickets or scratchie cards or raffle tickets. If someone offers me a raffle ticket for charity I just give them the money but I don't take a ticket. It's just how I roll, no judgement on what anyone else does with their money as long as they're not spending the grocery money on it. And no judgement on YF for what they do to keep this forum running. I've got Adblock anyway. ;)

Man I love me a good raffle. Ever since I was nine and figured out that I had enough money to buy the entire book of tickets at the school fair and automatically win an all blacks jersey. Somebody did not think that through and was outsmarted by a nine year old. Winning
