If a $10 and $20 did procreate wouldn't they only give birth to something that will grow into $15 or does one of the notes have dominant genes meaning the offspring could be closer to $12.50 or even $17.50???

Simple. TAB are set on the inverse of how much money is coming in on them. A portion of that comes from home team fans who back their own team regardless of odds, form, off season signings etc. And of course Gold Coast don't have any fans.
