Take a bow Mark Paston
He dribbles a lot and the opposition dont like it - you can see it all over their faces. (Ron Atkinson)

Mate of mine went down the local park on Sunday to practice for this seasons Masters league (I know Masters don't practice - we gave him a dispensation - he hasn't played for 25 years) anyway had his young son with him. Being a mad keen supporter the kid had his Nix kit on. Mark was at the park practicing - sees the kid with his Nix kit on and wanders over, says gidday, and gives the kid his old goalie gloves. Kid has been on cloud nine ever since - took the gloves to school to show his mates - not sure if he's taken them off yet.

Don't you love it when your team is full of genuinely nice guys.

That's what we'd like to see in the local media. Great stuff!

Practicing for Masters three is an even bigger crime...  I'm going to call Tawa and get him suspended.

How's my driving? - Whine here

Trouble is he'd probably thank you for getting him suspended.

I've seen Pasty jogging near Newtown a few times, always a good lad.
And well done on him for giving the kid his gloves.

That's what I love about football down under..the players are so chilled out.
Saw Daniel at the post office a couple of months back, he said Hi.

Used to go to the pool every monday and every time the Nix were there they were happy to have a chat.

Once I ended up in the spa pool with Daniel, Fred and Hearfield (after he had scored a goal the day before). Best moment ever!

Cue the thread on how Paston gives his gloves away far better than Glenn Moss ever would have in  .......5....4....3

Apparently I'm apathetic, but I couldn't care less.

Was he sitting on a bench? He usually goes to the counter about 10 minutes before closing

Paston organised the glove giveaway better, but Moss when he gave away his gloves was more spectacular

I interviewed Mark Paston a couple of times early in his career and he was always humble without being ridiculous about it. It's no surprise that he's still a really nice guy, that's generally not something that changes that much as a person ages.
Nix, Leyton Orient and Alloa Athletic supporting schmuck.
