The curse of the Mariners strikers strikes again.
Mrdja injured with the Socceroos and now Petrovski gone injured within 20 minutes today.
Kwasnik just hit the cross bar with a stunner. Would have been up there with Felipe the other night if he'd got it.

I assume that, like me, everyone is cheering on Central Coast for
this one? Just as I cheered the Newcastle Jets over Adelaide.
With Perth playing Queensland, one of them will leapfrog us
whatever the result, but if the Victory lose, we will end the round
sitting in 4th. Otherwise we're 5th. A small difference, but enough
to decide my temporary loyalty as I watch a game as a
neutral.

Couldn't bring myself to cheer the Jets, unless they drop
Griffiiths. Just can't do it.

He's not the worst player this Kwasnik...
He copped a lot of crap last year for missing chances but he created most of them himself and he's really a midfielder by choice. Give him space and he'll kill you, but will be better if you manage to keep at least one striker on the pitch with him to finish what he creates.

I'll say this quietly... Joel Griffiths is in my A-League
Fantasy team

Thompson has been starved of decent ball in games i have seen him
play. Not making much of an impact this year.

You can just imagine being a Striker and you agent turning up and
saying "great news, the Mariners want you". You'd be sure
you'll be injured within 4 weeks.

Yeah, wasn't sure about it, but on replay Vidmar looks to be
dragging down Thomson by his shoulder so fair enough. Doesn't look
like we're going to keep a playoff spot. Hey ho - 5th is a good
place for us to sit after 4 rounds.

What the hell is up with Hernandez? He played in the World cup for
Costa Rica last year, was suppost to be a star of the league. And
hes playing average and looks badly out of shape. Anyone agree?

Went to the match tonight - and have to say that Victory were sadly
lacking in ideas and CCM were, once again, reliant on hitting on
the break.
I'm not saying this to kiss ass, but Pheonix seem to be the
only team in the A-League who are interested in playing football -
everyone else seems too affraid to lose.
As for Hernandez - if Leandro Love has to play second fiddle
to him much longer there will be riots in Melbourne. A
classy, attacking player with quick feet should never be on the
bench when a slow moving and worse still, slow thinking one is
in the starting line up. I'm tempted to say that his club in
Costa Rica saw Melbourne coming - very strange that they allowed
him to go on a two-year loan if they think he's so good...
I'd like to know what his form was like last season, post-Germany
06. It's possible that he went off the rails, because he's
certainly well out of shape.

How can one player deline so much in one year? He should be a star
in this league....but come on it is kind of fishy getting a current
costa rican international in his "prime" on a 2 year loan and not
even being on marquee $$$. I just couldnt see what is in it for the
club that owns him...but now i can. They didnt want to pay the
bast##d to eat pies.or nachos.

Say Hernandez - think Anthony Le Tallec (at Liverpool).
Terrifically talented players with big reps, signed on good deals,
then found out - promptly loaned out to anyone who'll take
them.

Allsopp went to hospital with suspicion of a collapsed lung.
The Age says it was broken rib.
"Danny Allsopp is pretty bad actually, he's on his way to hospital now," Victory coach Ernie Merrick said after the game at Telstra Dome.
"He got a knock in the first half, which he carried, and he got another pretty bad knock in the second half. We don't know what it is, but it looks at least like a broken rib.
"It's pushing into his lungs, he's having trouble breathing and he's been rushed off to hospital now."

That's what the concern was last night apparently. (I did say
suspicion)

But collapsed lung?
Sounds a lot worse than it actually is. They 'blow up'
pretty easilly once you are looked after. Back on your feet
and running around in time for the next game - especially a
big lad like Danny. He seems to be the type who'd try to run
off a broken leg.

Yeah, I like Allsopp - big bugger, lots of heart, sticks the ball
in the net

Like you then... apart from the ball in the net thing ?
I haven't got a lot of heart either to be fair

Scans show that his ribs aren't broken. Still out for a while, but
not the 6 weeks as first feared.
I have already volunteered any of my ribs should he need
them.
