One to drop out then ?

Yeah, they normally take 16 to away games and omit one over there; I didn't actually sight Brownlie at the airport though, so they may have just taken the bare 15....

Muscat might be injured. Fingers crossed.
Fever arrived in Melb. Will get a photo of us boozing on our deck infront of Telstra Dome

Could start like this then

Moss
Rees, Dodd, ODor
Elrich, Ferrante, Brown, Felipe, Daniel
Smeltz, Coveny

Subs; Paston, Christie, Draper, Lia

Christie as cover in the defence, Lia in the midfield and Draper to get a chance later in the game

fair enough

That must mean Christie will be tried in the mid field if lochead out. Having no Johson or Aloisi will be interesting. So ricki chose Draper over Barborouses which is unusual especially with plodder in the midfield.

I would have liked one of those names to be Elrich

I think Lia will start against his old club, Brown on the bench

Big game for O'dor then - he'll be desperate to impress with the end of the season nigh and next season's squad undecided.

Lia had a good game (scored) against Victory last time so, yes, he may well get the nod. This game will be really tough for us if we don't put in maximum effort from the word go. Melbourne have found form and will push hard, knowing that a win will put some pressure on the Jets. And it will be bloody hot on Friday.

Ricki has also said that Costa will definitely go to CCM next weekend and that he hopes to give Greg Draper some game time on Friday night.

Either Daniel, Lia or Brown to miss out I guess.

Daniel's a certainty, is match day squad 14 or 15?

11+4 = 15.

So noone dropped from that squad.

Could go 1 up and play both Brazilians. If we play two up I think Felipe misses out, he's been generally more effective at home and wasn't great last week.

Melbourne Victory's slim hopes of defending their Hyundai A-League title have been dealt a blow with the likelihood that Kevin Muscat, Danny Allsopp and Nick Ward will all miss Friday night's must-win match against Wellington at Telstra Dome.

Ricky is full of surprises. Oldy played one of his best games and gets dropped right out of the squad. O'Dor hasn't touched the pitch for about six weeks and now will be trying to keep Archie Thompson quiet!

You're right - O'Dor's last appearance was as an 86th minute substitute against Sydney in round 13 here in Wellington and pretty much his only contribution was losing the ball from Lia's (admittedly poor) pass which led to the penalty which gave Sydney the 1-1 draw. That was on November 17 and he hasn't been seen since.

I think this is definitely a case of giving him a chance to prove his worth for next season.

Sounds like Muscat will be there, according to the coach in todays Melbourne Age. Bugger, because he is such a strong forceful player

"strong forceful player". Polite way of saying "f**king animal"?   Jag2008-01-11 08:26:03

Apparently I'm apathetic, but I couldn't care less.

I'm disturbed LF1...there are people on the Sydney forum saying nice things about you.

The Sydney forum is a bit of a laugh, they give Talay a fair bit of beef.  I reckon him & Corica are the class acts in that team.
