I think lately we have seen many players fall. It will be interesting to see the team people want to play. Everyone is fully fit i think and availiable.

---------------------------------------------Moss----------------------------------------------------------

Christie--------------------------Dodd-------------O'Dor-------------------------------------Lochhead

Elrich---------------------------Brown---------------Ferrante--------------------------------Daniel

--------------------------------Smeltz------------------Felipe----------------------------------------

Bench:Aloisi, George/Barbourousas,Coveny.

- Our passing in the midfield has been sh*t, Ferrante will fix that. Aloisi has been playing below average, and Tim Brown will show him how a holding midfielder should really play.

Probably agree with that but I'd have Johnson or Lia on the bench instead of Coveny.

That'll teach me not to quote. I meant Xcellent's team

Brave calls but I agree if you play 4-4-2. Though I'd go 3-5-2 as follows:
-------------Moss--------------
-------------Dodd-------
--------O'Dor-----Lochhead
-------------Brown-----------
Elrich----Johnson/Lia----Aloisi-----Daniel
-----Smeltz-----------Felipe-----
Bench: George, Ferrante, Johnson/Lia, Paston

Pasty had his chance and blew it. George has impressed but not enough to start.
Elrich and Daniel will have to work their bollock off but Daniel can and I'd bring Ferrante and Johnson/Lia with 15-20 to got with fresh legs. Ferrante will score eventually, the law of stats states it.

i think ill broadly back toffeeman on this one - 3-5-2 has to be worth a go given the number of goals we've leaked so far

but if we stick with 4-4-2 id like to see lia in at right back.

he would start in either my 4-4-2  line up (bc lia to right back) or my 3-5-2 (bc 3 in middle of park) line up.

Felipe wouldn't be good up front he needs the ball in more space then what strikers get, so behind the strikers is the best place for him...best format I think, if all are fit to play.

Not sure, I heard that only Dodd will be the only one flying over. So if Ferrante isnt in OZ already, he wont be in the team.

If not a back four, I reckon something like this

                           Moss
         O'Dor         Dodd        Lochead
Christie/Lia                                       Daniel
                   Brown/Johnson   Aloisi
             Elrich        Felipe
                              Smeltz

Subs: Paston, Old, Christie/Lia/Brown/Johnson, Coveny

Daniel to provide width on the left and Elrich to drift out right, but given freedom to come in with a wingback providing width on the right too.

We would get destroyed playing three at the back. Especially if it was Daniel and Elrich on the flanks, neither of them defend.

Can we not fly Clebo over if he's fit? We need him.

I'd rather have you at centre back.

Incredible stamina. No shame. Yellow Fever.

Careful or we'll end up with this:

-------------MOSS---------------

NEWS-SMITHY- WB4E-CLEBO

FEVERISH--------------DANIEL

------------FRANKIE------------

What a lineup.

I can t really see a back 3 working, especially if the plan is to play either daniel or elrich as wide men in a 5 man midfield. Defensively I see us getting destroyed. Gotta stick with four at the back, but need greater cover through the middle of the park i reckon, brown to start in as one of those players.

4-4-2 with a diamond midfield. Give Aloisi some splinters off the bench he's not playing up to expectation. Maybe bench Coveny and give someone who's a bit younger a chance, any ideas?

agreed, replacing an (apparently) under-performing rightback with Elrich/Lia as wingback doesn't seem to address the problem

if we employ elrich and daniel wide they need the freedom to do what they do best -attack

an option might be to play a sweeper, but who?- aolisi has the nous but not the pace, O'dor in 4-5 years time (but i don't think we can wait that long)

or do we return to the fullbacks pushing up on the outside (which didn't really happen v adelaide) and trust that doing so will stop the opposition's wide players from venturing too far forward

Every team different so far I think.

Somehow we need to get some solidity in.
I have no idea who to put in goal after sunday, and I have no idea who could go right back.
So I will plump for a 4-5-1 formation:

                           Paston

Lia       Dodd         O'dor       Lochead

                  Brown    Johnson
 Elrich               Felipe                 Daniel

                        Smeltz

Subs: Christie, Aloisi, Coveny

Back 3? We're like the Titanic with 4, so you wanna put 3 there? Give me a break.

------------Moss--------------
-Plodder-Johnson-Dodd-Lochhead
---------------Aloisi---Brown-------------
-Elrich------------Felipe-----------Daniel
-------------------Smeltz--------------

Plodder only having his place because noone else who is any good plays there.

If we play like we have been recently... Perth will spank us.

Personally I always like the 4-3-3 formation seems to work on FIFA 07 so here it goes
                   Moss
Lochead      Dodd           Odour          Christie

      Elrich        Johnson          Daniel
    Filipe           Smeltz          Brown

Aloisi, Costa Babaros the young dude, and Old

You judge your tactics on fifa07? Oh dear.

Lochhead is left back. Christie is right back. Its O'Dor not odour

Brown aint a striker

I personally perfer the following playing as a 4-5-1 which is a formation I do not like personally
                   Moss
Christie   Dodd   O'Dor   Lockhead
        Johnson         Aloisi
Elrich           Felipe         Daniel
                   Smeltz

Reasons: Johnson and Moss are/were on form so why were they dropped. Johnson and Aloisi are your holding midfielders and give stability in front of the two CB. They wn you the ball and thus, possession. You have two floating wingers in Elrich and Daniel and Felipe is the attacking mid fielder (note: not striker as everyone lists him as) Smeltz is in form so yeah.

The back 4, well... Speak for themselves with limited resources

You bench, well Coveny has not done much wrong in the chances he has had and runs hard. Brown gets a look in due to being the other defensive/holding midfielder. I'd probably put Ferrante on there for his delivery (note: not shots on goal) as he is pretty accurate.

good stuff. toss up between Jono and Brown (though I would be tempted to drop Ross and play both)
