My understanding was always that curtain raisers were not allowed in the A-League and that was the reason the team wellington didn't play their matches as curtain raisers to the Phoenix matches.

Just seen that the W-League opener between the tards and Sydney is beiung played a sa curtain raiser to the real thing on Saturday.  Anyone know whether any curtain raisers have been mooted this season, and would we want team welly games as curtain raisers.

Less time in the back bencher for a starter and it's nice to go down to Newtown Park on away weekends.  On the other hand it could be a good thing for team welly and may save them some loot in ground rental, and I'm sure that the players might enjoy playing at the ring.

Thoughts?

I think the odd game in the ring would have to be good for tw... But i have no idea whether it is viable.

I'd be all for it. And you can counter leaving the BB early by getting their early.

I prefer Newtown park for TW games.  Watching from the bank on a sunny day is magic.

Would be magic to watch TW dick ACFC then the Nix kill the Blingers all on one ticket, bring it on

For the game where we're expecting bigger crowds curtain raisers could definately add excitement to match day, but the majority of TW games should not be taken away from Newtown Park.
You know we belong together...

While the idea is great I think the cost to the Nix of an extra few hours of stadium hire could be prohibitive.

Incredible stamina. No shame. Yellow Fever.

Yeah, you don't see curtainraisers at many rugby games (except last week) and I would imagine it is because of the cost so the Nix would run into the same problems
