Television cameras/angles at ROF..?

Does anyone think that our games are being filmed a little too close to the pitch? Im watching the Man Utd vs. Wolves highlights, aswell as other EPL, and the angles and distances they use to televise these EPL games seem to be so much better. ie, a little bit higher, alot further away, less zoom maybe...? the camera doesnt need to pan as much, and its just a better view of the field of play in general.

Does anyone else have any thoughts on this?

stadium layout and design dictates camera angles etc.
Comparing it to EPL is a bit misleading as a lot of those stadiums and nearly twice as tall as the ROF.

I've heard it said on SFC forum & I'll say it here.
The Welly coverage (filming) is the best in the league.
Seems since Dec that I started noticing this.

Wellywood?

Its a little known fact that all home games are recorded against a blue sceen background and the crowd is added later, using the Weta Digital 'Massive' software.

Wellywood? -I think so!

That's why it's so intimidating.  All those uruk-hai shouting out "who are ya?" at the southern end.

yup-if you look closer, youll also notice that Paul Ifill is actually played by Cliff Curtis, and Eugene Dadi is really Tana Umanga

Yeah...I agree

The have not quite got the camera height right plus the zoom out sometimes takes you too far from the action. They also sometimes cock up the choice of cameras.....how often do they cross to the ground camera and then you get the back of some sideline official blocking the view. It would be nice to get a camera on the eastern side as nearly all the players celebrations go to "Daniels corner"

overall they don't do a bad job...LOL at the ground cameraman in the Perth game who chased the players down the field after the penalty shoot out...he then must of tripped on his cord coz we suddenly saw lots of sky then lots of grass

Haha ^. But yeah, we can't get a higher angle cos well, the stadium isn't high enough. Unless they sat on the roof. OSH would love that

I get more annoyed at the director often choosing to give a player a close-up when the ball is in an attacking position just outside the area. I haven't noticed for our home games - coz I'm at the game - but it's very noticeable on other matches.

most EPL stadiums have the crowd closer to the pitch than the ROF. Wolves ground Molinuex is the exception. That is why it has the worse atmosphere for a stadium in the EPL.
Grounds like Fratton Park, Ewood Park, DW Stadium, Turf Moor are smaller and have less compacity than the ROF.
BTW the Wolves - Man Utd match attrached a sell out crowd of 28000.
The camera positions in the EPL are different to here. The ROF was designed for viewing and broadcasting and more importantly, our stadiums are designed for multi use where as most EPL stadiums are used for Football, except Old Trafford.

Well DW is multi-purpose, and Hull's as well I think... but I think the difference is league and rugby are played on a rectangles as well. They play cricket at seperate, cricket grounds.

Old Trafford hosts the Super League grand final but not a lot else... perhaps concerts? Not sure.

DW stadium is code shared with the wigan warriors, KC stadium with Hull Kingston Rovers, no EPL grounds have other codes playing.
The only purpose built stadium close to here is Etihad in Melbourne which has the channel 9 studio located in the facility.
