Seemed like the interviewer was trying to get stuck into Terry and was met by a brick wall of optimism.

Very positive, very committed, very Terry, he sounded good, and rebuffed any potential put downs easily

He handled Plunket well didn't he? Although I imagine it's an unpleasant job (handling Sean Plunket), it's a pity that Plunket took that angle but I guess not surprising.

Sponsor is done and dusted, just the release needs approval from all parties.  My understanding is it will be on the strips on Sunday.  This is covered in the sponsorship angst thread.

What was Plunket saying to put Tezza down? Royal2009-08-07 12:00:37

Plunket framed the story in a pretty negative way>>> team wooden spooners 1st season, ONLY 6th in 2nd, owner has BLOWN $2.5 million and team has lost it's star players.  He mentioned the betting agency having us favourite to be wooden spooners . . . . so you could kinda see what kind of angle he was keen on!  Let's just see if they have him back to try an alternative angle when the team shoot up the table early in the season & the gate turnstiles are spinning like Sarah Walker's back wheel.  Like the guys said Terry cut through it all nicely.

Typical negative NZ media bullshiite.

Could have commented on how great it is to have a professional football team in NZ, could have said how the phoenix have positively changed the sports scene in wellington, could have talked about the great work the club does in schools and for charaties, could have talked about the great atmosphere at the games, could have mentioned the way the Phoenix has provided a pro football career for kiwi youngsters llike Costa and Marcos, could have stuck his head in the loo and flushed it three times.

He's a journo and a jaded one at that... not sure if he remembers what optimisim and glass half full means anymore

Given up listening to his show - comes across as a sneering know-it-all.  Quite disrespectful to all of his interview subjects.

Shaun f**kits last appearance near a football feild as spectator was when? He picked on the wrong guy to try and shoot the Phoenix down. What did he expect Terry to say? Yes I've wasted a lot of money and I am worried??

DOH, more poor journalism along the styles of cheap shots because they have no real evidence to back themselves up with. Perhaps if Shaun f**kit was a regular attendee to the Nix or was regularly involved with football, then he might learn to do some objective questioning about the subject.
Proud to have attended the first 175 Consecutive "Home" Wellington Phoenix "A League" Games !!
