What a load of sh*t trying to lay the blame for the season on him.Yep stupid thing to do but dont you think taking only one point out of 9 against Perth had just as much to do with it.Sure was a red card if he is stupid enough to lean in then he has to take whats coming.

GET YOUR SHIRTS OFF FOR THE BOYS

He went for it twice, and he didn't even need to go into the locked heads position with him.

And I'm not blaming the season on him, just he's thrown it away from this point.Michael2009-01-11 21:44:46

Someone's beaten me to it!

Hearfield's stupidity really has cost us. No matter what you may think, his reaction earned him the red card.

We conceded the goal immediately after Smeltz was looking for someone to pass to, pretty much in the area Hearfiled had been playing in.

We needed all 11 players on the field especially when he knew we only had one good sub left on the bench.

My post here is from sheer frustration we've shot ourselves in the foot, and Hearfield pretty much took aim for us. Aggggrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

1, he didn't even need to go into the argument
2, he had the "forward movement"
3, he should've been sent earlierMichael2009-01-11 21:58:13

his real crime was not burying that early shot. this was silly, but not taking the goals was worse.

Really unhappy about that game but it most certainly wasn't a red card offence.  That decision and ones of the like just gives football bashers more ammo when calling it a pussy sport.

Absolutely poor decision by the ref.

If you motion towards another player like that there is a good chance you'll pay the price. Discipline was required, he didn't show any, so whether anyone thinks it WAS or ir WASN'T a red card offence is iirelavent.Prevention is better than a cure. He shouldn't have put himself, and ultimately the team in that position.
He is, unfortunately, TWAT of the day. I'm more than pi$$ed off about this!

Saying it wasn't worth a sending off is a laugh. He head butted someone.

That's true but it shouldn't be like that in the first place.  They shouldn't turn it into ballet.

Pish-posh.  He had an involuntary jerk of the neck which was completely out of his control and in the unlikely chance that he did do it controllably it shouldn't have been a red card.

Hearfield was dumb and cost us it, in my opinion.

He's young and got goaded into it, Brosque advanced on him and got the reaction he was after.  I'm going to liken it to Zidane being sent off in the World Cup - yes it was totally stupid but it was incited by the opposition player being an ass.

At least Hearfield can blame it on inexperience.

Even though we couldn't score a goal? He's he the one man solely responsible for scoring a goal? And the sloppy loose defending in conceding the goal?
Oh Wellington is wonderful. We got the wind, the rain and the phoenix. Oh Wellington is wonderful.

the main reason we lost the game wasnt hearfield it was lack of ideas and mccain not marking his man close enough...still hearfield there is a lesson here dont be such a tit and walk away next time

Ben Williams is to blame.  That was just bad.  A yellow card for attempting to punch the ball into the net and fool the ref, and a red to a player whose head was moved forward by a gentle breeze.  Pathetic.
