Not sure if this is inappropriate or not so delete if not.

After the first game back I wanted to throw a thank you to the workers for the Fever.

There is so much work that goes into every game, from the Tifo, to the drums, to the charity work, to the fever dreams, to the podcast, to these very forums.  They do this for the team, and more so for us.

They give us a place to come and talk about the games, they let us vent our anger at the team, and at them at times.  I know I'm not the most popular member here but they let us do our thing with quite a bit of freedom, and being criticized when things aren't perfect cant be easy.

But more importantly they build an atmosphere at the game that is unlike many things in NZ, for the Nix and the All Whites.

People can just rock up, have a great time, chanting, singing and cheering, or just watching the Zone, and leave without having to spend an extra cent or put in any more effort.  It's free for all who attend a game, and its fantastic.

It can be hard to motivate yourself to go to a game when the Nix aren't doing well, but these guys and gals don't just have to turn up, they have to find the motivation to inject atmosphere and do things liek the Tifo.

So from the bottom of my heart thanks for all you do for us, and best of luck all to what will hopefully be a great season.

Resuscitating this thread to say thanks again to the YF for working hard to sort out WN tickets, and all the other hard work you lot put towards football in NZ.

Another thanks incoming.

Last night was awesome, with an awesome result.  The night was only made better thanks to the White Noise.  I was a few aisles over from the noise because my dad doesn't like standing the whole game, but chanted my ass off.  It was awesome stopping in the middle of the easy ones and hearing the stadium roaring, there is nothing like it.

The drum has been a great addition to the YF zone, but last night I thought it really added something special to the atmosphere.

Thanks again team!

Hold on, were WN allowed to bring the drum while the Peruvians weren't?

We had permission from NZF from very very early on to use a drum. The media stories doing the rounds last week didn't pick up on that.

It was fudgeing shark that NZF didn't extend that to the Peruvians. Seems like Martin was doing it just to be a dick to Peru.

You're right, and it just invites retaliation. Travelling fans will probably not be allowed to take their shirts off in Lima.

Yea thanks from me too on the efforts you lads put in.

I was in the White Noise zone, actually literally RIGHT behind 2ndbest and Smithy in the first half, and then 2B moved out to make way for patrick and his drum in the second. It was actually a little bit weird, me knowing who these people were, but at the same time knowing they wouldn't have the foggiest who I was, I was going to say hello... but didn't. I whispered to my mate "thats such-and-such and thats such-and-such from YF, they organise a whole bunch of sh*t, they are living legends" and my mate's all like "bro you sound like they're celebrities and you're getting all weird here" HAHAHAHAHA

But well done lads, was a great day out, and me left ear is still ringing from that drum!

Peru fans had air horns (most confiscated) and a load had whistles of varying types which they used to start chants etc

Had a cracker of a weekend up from Christchurch for the All Whites and Nix thanks in no small part to the efforts of the Yellow Fever/White Noise crew. Massive thanks to Patrick, 2nd Best, Hard News, Smithy, Tracey and all the others whose names I don't know. Not just for last weekend but all the work you've done with the forums, podcast and other work promoting football in NZ. It's certainly made following football a lot more enjoyable for me.

You guys are legends.

If they apply such a rule I really really hope they're required to have to enforce it!

Idk if anyones actually looked at all the other clubs fan forums, but they pale in comparison to this forum page. The closest thing to this is Melbourne Victory's forum. But thats been infected with malware. So thanks for setting up such a brilliant web-site

I'm generally not one for pissing in peoples' pockets but I can't echo the sentiments on this thread enough. So deserved bouquet follows: I've had numerous direct and indirect connections with YF exec & co. Over the last few years - Dale followed my twitter account, I've FB messaged Feverish on numerous Central league and NWL issues, I've loved Boxy's pod chat, Smithy made the most magnanimous offer to junior GG a few years back, I introduced myself to Patrick at 4 Kings last week (taller than I anticipated) and thoroughly had a blast in White Noise zone with my two lads last week; the YFF has been a great forum for every conceivable football issue and fan of NZ football. Hip hip hurrah lads and ladies. Keep the faith, afterall it's the global game.

Now that Westpac games are int he rear view mirror for the season I just wanted to thank the team again.

I couldn't believe Patrick managed to keep his rythym drumming at the last game in the last 10.  I couldnt even clap in time with some of those chances.

Seriosuly one of the reasons I still make the 3 hour round trip for every game is the fever and it's energy.  Even when we are losing it's a great way to spend 2 hours every other week.

Thanks again team, corssed fingers for the Ring of Fire success next year.

I have to express the same sentiments. At Coopers Stadium, even as the away crowd it was great fun and softened the blow of a disappointing defeat.  A defeat that, if I wasn't in the away bay, would be so annoyed. But it's great fun and an experience that I want to keep experiencing.

One day I hope I can make it into Westpac and join the Yellow Fever at home, but until then, keep cheering the boys on hard for me and we will get the successes we deserve.

I know I'm sounding like a broken record at this point, but Thanks again Fever!

We didn't come last, and I'm giving the YF Team the credit for that.

I really hope that this ruthless year doesn't demotivate things like the pod, as it's a major part of my engagement with the team.

Peace out ofr the off season people.

This seems to be the best place to add my voice and thank the Yellow Fever organisers for this Forum and all the positive work you do in the events that make this club so special. I couldn't get to the QBE last game as I am presently in hospital recovering from a serious, potentially life-threatening operation.  My son (not Mike who is a namesake) and I got more heavily involved as Phoenix fans after the West Ham game.  My son thought we were in a bit of a library, so at half time we went and stood amongst the YF fans and had a ball. I appeared in the front sports-page of the Herald, shirt off being sprayed with a can of beer, and this didn't impress my other half who thought that a fifty something old Accountant should display more decorum. However we continued to remain fans and organised our own base eight to ten fans shouting ourselves hoarse at the Auckland games, and down to Wellington on one occasion.

I have occasionally grown a negative mindset this year as I have sensed things weren't happy at the Club, and I haven't been able to attract the same number of mates to watch - this has been frustrating.

But I do want to thank Yellow Fever for a whole heap of things - this is a special club. We deserve to belong longer than the two year ultimatum.

I would like to echo some of the sentiment.  But also a special thank you to Liz and Tracey for making my boys A League debut a warm one. He enjoyed his four games of which we won two and drew two lost none. Sorry the pic is side on. Mods can you change that?
