I'm going to vote for Daniel, but Juninho was absolute class the other night liverpoolfan12007-10-01 15:19:37

Felipe is first, Daniel is second!

Wellington Phoenix FC, it's just watching Brazil!

(Nix vs Perth, it's just like watching Brazil vs Auckland!)

No Jardel either

...or Diego (sort of Brazilian), or Patrick.

Guess you need to be good enough to have made a mark for your side to make a mark on the league.

lol indeed no jardel anyone watch his play again this week? he looks like a unit, and he was panting like he'd run a marathon after 25 minutes... even when he got into a scoring position he shot about 20 metres high... lol

Daniel had another rocking game, but I voted for Felipe just because its his unpredictable movements on the ball that create uncertainty in opponent defenses and allow our other attackers to make space.  Plus he's just a joy to watch on the ball.

Felipe, Daniel and Juninho have all impressed.  But one expected it of Juninho.  Daniel and Felipe have been pleasant surprises.  Does the Phoenix have two of the three best Brazilians in the A-league?

football tragic for too long

Felipe on 32%

Three for me, and two for them.

Felipe has the best touch in the team - amazing control. Definately him. Juninho has been quite good, though.

I didn't think Daniel had delivered on the promise he showed in pre season (e.g. the Melbourne goal) and had been overshadowed by Felipe. He somewhat proved me wrong v Perth though - only had one shocking pass (he does those way too often..) and had a great game.

Maybe a better way to phrase this argument is this...

Given the chance, would you swap either Felipe or Daniel for Juninho?

Wellington in general has enriched the A-League

And yes, yes they have. Daniel and Felipe are both players that any team in the A-League would want. But they're ours and nobody else can have them

Here we go
Felipe's better than Juninho.
Here we go
Phoenix all over the world.

Oh, those Brazilians, you know? Circa 1970? Broke the mould. Theory out the window. Free expression of football. Uncategorisable. Is that a word? It is now! You know? Far cry from small boys in the park, jumpers for goalposts. Rush goalie. Two at the back, three in the middle, four up front, one's gone home for his tea. Beans on toast? Possibly, don't quote me on that. Marvellous.

How can it not be Juninho? the poll was "Best Brazilian in the league" right? and biases towards our guys aside, he is the best!? (and if felipe and daniel were better they would have been called up for Brazil, they are both 27/28 remember) They are fantastic little footballers and have done wonders for our team, i think if the poll were "Best supprises in A-league" Dan and Felipe would win:)

Because 25yo Juninho and 34yo and carrying an injury Juninho are two different  things.  When was Juninho's last major international for Brazil ?

Juninho has been responsible for some good things this season, but no more than Felipe.

Because he's not the best centre back ?  He became a risk and got replaced.  He may well make the bench if O'Dor is missing for anytime, but otherwise unlikely.

The team as a whole was out of sorts last night, the Central Defenders were certainly not worse than anyone else and with one of the on the sideline after a kick in the face for the 2nd it would be a big call to bring Clebo back in to replace them when he's looked questionable.

I've been saying it to myself all day, just takes me about 24 hours to come out of my loss-induced Coma where I ignore football for 24-48 hours afterwards and am able to talk about it.

I'm over last night much quicker than it took to get over the Salty Dogs loss though.  Probably because apart from the goals we looked pretty good in that.  Last night you just have to write off to a sh*t day.

The Newcastle one was quick as well because the injustice of it was so large.

And it just keeps getting better. "Not"

Already without striker Daniel due to suspension, the visitors lost fellow Brazilian Felipe to a hamstring injury in the 41st minute, and midfielder Steven O'Dor was substituted at half time after sustaining what appeared to be a broken nose thanks to a confrontation with Reinaldo.

Herbert said he expected Felipe to be out for at least a fortnight, a cruel blow to the Kiwis, who will lose a swag of players to national selection ahead of their next encounter against Newcastle.

I'd also be praying Nelsen is available and no defenders from the Aus U-23 side go down in tomorrows games, as I suspect Old and O'Dor are the next names on each squad list.

We don't always agree HN, but lets hope our prays are answered. I agree in your thoughts on Od and O 'Dor. I'm not sure how much more disruption the squad can take? or in fact my own nerves for the next game.

Actually if they're called up and if the FFA believed in 'fair play' they would have to postpone it.  I'm farting in the wind.  But FFS.  We would be down to 16 players/kids!!!!!
