The first time I heard a Portuguese football commentary I thought I was listening to a Slavic language. The similarity in sound is striking although in origin, there is no similarity at all.
I thought Portuguese would sound vaguely Spanish but not at all.
The two written languages look very similar.

Would be great to come up with a chant for him in his own language.
