I have mixed feelings about the Phoenix part of the name, i think it is OK and i'm sure it will grow on me, BUT I am absolutely stoked with the 'Wellington' part of the name.

Thank god we don;t have to put up with 'NZ does this, NZ does that etc etc'

Agreed. For those of us who are Kiwi born and living in Oz following an Aussie A-League team, I'd get asked "Mate, any conflict when we play NZ?" and I'd say "NZ? That's Auckland, mate and don't you bloody forget it!".

Now that my home town has a team there actually will be a bit of conflict...

The whole add on New Zealand thing is stupid - it is the Auckland Warriors to me whether they call it NZ or not - and I'm a big Warriors fan either way.

The Wellington part of the name is brilliant - a great move. Phoenix isn't so flash but there you go we're stuck with it. I wonder why it sounds American - oh because they have a city called that.

I mean Hotspurs is about as silly as it gets in England, Wellington FC would have been the story and that's what it's going to be for me.
