The next opponents for the Phoenix - on TV now against the Roar.

Thoughts and observations?

Their left back Matt Thompson gets up and down a lot - let's hope we sort the right-back issue before next week.

The Brazilian Denni looks good too....

mediocre first half. Qld have controlled the ball and probably won the midfield but the Jets look pretty disciplined and well organised at the back. Nothing frightening.

No Joel Griffiths scored from a free kick to equalize after a Qld red card.

Two full rounds and only one team has managed to win. Unbelievable.

Denni looks a very smart player - and can we borrow Griffiths to provide some free kick instruction to our guys?

Agree - Denni looked excellent - he'll need to be watched carefully, I guess Aloisi will get that job

Just hope Adam Griffiths brings his mouldies and keeps slipping over at the back like he did tonight.
I think they could be vulnerable down their right as Steve Eagleton looks average - which should put a smile on Daniel's and Lochhead's faces.

The are pretty good, though not as good as CCM. They press very high. J Griffiths gets in the action, though not always effective, and Denni is very good

Denni is very quick and will be the only major problem. I was not very impressed at all, they spent to much time on the ball and lacked any real creativity. With Daniel and Felipe we should be sweet.

I thought they played quite a bit of neat football (much more so than at Perth, which was a very poor match), but did look a tad vulnerable at the back.  So sensible play from us at the back (not sure where that leaves Clebo & the right back issue) and we might, just might, be able to really carve them up!

Potential to be a bloody good game (despite the 0-0 preseason encounter).  Come on you Phoenix!

I know, I know, its serious!

Denni the only problem? you lads have to be havin a Laugh.

Look Jets are pretty much starting the season behind the ape ball. Our imports didnt arrive till jsut before the season. One isnt even cleared to play yet :(

We lost a few key players at the end of last season. Nick Carle was the biggets lost but losing the likes of timmy Brown, Okon, Coveny and Milton doesn't help as well. We have replaced these blokes with Youth. So it will take  a few games togther to work out partnerships and trust in each other.

We will be without Mark Bridge and Stu due to Olyroo duties. Which suxs, but country over club in my eyes.

im thinking a draw, but as im heading over for this i really want a win.

But Win lose of Draw the trip will be worth it!
