Tickets for Auckland game - help please

Have tried to redeem my two free tickets for friends in Auckland.  Ticketmaster told me they could only give me tickets in the Yellow Fever Zone (and doublechecked with supervisor when I queried). Smithy/News et al - can you shed any light on this?  Friends are newbies and aren't keen to be standing so wanted to get tickets in a different area

Thanks in anticipation :)

From the last couple of Eden Park games I've been to they were really lax on seating.

No one checking seat numbers etc, once you're through the gate just find a spot.

Might be different this time, but I doubt it

This. The ticketmaster staff at the Eden Park windows have no idea, they waffle on about where do you want to sit, best place for families, blah blah, and consequently hold up the queue with minutes to go before (and after kick-off) until it grows monstrous and irritable when all they need to do is SELL YOU A TICKET ANYWHERE IN THE STADIUM. The ground holds 45,000 ffs.

Yeh, but it'll be the Aucklanders telling anyone to sit down anyway. I have unpleasant memories of almost getting into a fight in the official "fever zone" last time because people behind us didn't want anyone standing.

^ Up to you to educate them then.

Yep I'd agree with JM.

There's no mention of what the "Fever Zone" means through Ticketmaster or any advertising of the match, not many people are used to the idea of standing and chanting at games.  As far as they know it just means cheaper tickets.

Once they give it a go they either love it, or they love pointing and laughing from other bits of the stadium.

The guys that came down for the 12 Pubs should be in there and have spread the good word.

Update: You can only redeem your ticket in the same area of the stadium (ie to stop people upgrading to gold tickets).  But then again, if you're mates are using your season pass to get in, then I have very little sympathy for them given they aren't buying their own tickets.  after all season passes aren't transferrable.

I get what you're saying 2nd best, but surely that's a bi-product of the Phoenix travelling circus.

^ Talking of circuses I wonder if that clown sitting on his own will again be at Eden Park vehemently cursing "You're a homo Bertos!" endlessly repeated whenever Bertos got the ball. Wasn't wearing Nix colours but a 'flasher coat' you'll be relieved to hear.

No you can't. Follow the instruction immediately below your question. It takes about 5 days to arrive - mine did.

Can someone confirm exactly which section fever zone is at Eden Park? Ticketek says 209, but I know someone who ordered a bunch (some time ago) and was given section 206. I understand there was a change from the original designation, and maybe some were sold for the original spot. So, would the real feverzone please stand up.

Smells like a potential cockup (and not for the first time at Eden Park).

Apologies if explained in detail elsewhere.

I know, I know, its serious!

409 is the designated Fever Zone on the Ticketmaster website.  (And is where the usual suspects will be.)

So you might want to get back in touch.

Thanks Liz, will pursue.

Me and a few other friends from Hamilton are going to get Feverzone tickets and get amongst it at the pub before hand. I picked a group that I knew would get involved. Hopefully they get the seating right on the website.

I'm also heading up from the Tron on Saturday and know of about 20 of us going. Hopefully a big crowd will develop.

I also know of a van with a couple spare seats available heading up on the Saturday if someone is keen. Only problem is, if you get on the van you will be expected to drink and make wildly inappropiate comments about Herbert.

If keen let me know.

I had to organize my neutral friends who only want to go to get drunk and sing. Going to be hard to convince them now.

You have a season pass, they should have a space reserved for you in the zone to redeem it. Stop slacking and give them a ring.

How big is the Zone? I hope people haven't bought tickets there and not realize what is involved

I bet this has happened, without a doubt. Maybe I can trade seats with another group of six who mistakenly got zone tickets.

Why don't they have the Zone behind one of the goals ? I know it not the best place to watch the game but it would cut out the people that want to watch from the side

Chances of the Rugby crowd being in the zone? Sitting down and clapping politely.

Plan of attack: get to the game 45mins early and stand and chant from then to show the rugby fans what to expect. Worked perfectly for us last year.

It also meant we could group together rather than being slightly more spread out.
