Tickets for Friday's match vs Jets - read

Tickets for Friday's game vs the Newcastle Jets will be the same prices as the pre-season match against Sydney, $10 for adults, kids under 16 plus bludging students free.

The only pre-sales will be from the kiosks on the stadium concourse from midday, although 'nix management have said there will be double the number of kiosks open to keep the queues down.  Seeing as there could be anywhere up to double the number of people as last time going we suggest:

(a)  get there early

(b)  bring cash

(c)  go down at lunchtime and buy a ticket

Season tickets will not be valid for this match.

Anyone who starts a new thread asking about tickets prices will feel my wrath

Cheers
YF

ps: drinks at the Back Bencher before the game

thanks for the info. What a pity the Phoenix didn't think to put all this on their website to save us all emailing them and having all these discussions

JD any idea if they are going to have more facilities open at the stadium this time? By facilities I'm referring to sellers of beer and wine. Last time I reckon the stadium staff underestimated how many fans were going to show up and there only appeared to be one stall selling alcohol  which was not enough for the majority of us barflys, meths drinkers and swiggers from bottles in brown paper bags. Are they going to sort it on friday? Just need to know as my liver is asking if he should book the day off or not.

Sorry to hijack the thread like

Ha!  At least they sold beer and wine at your game.  Down in Christchurch it was like we had stepped into John Howard's Northern Territory with a dry stadium!

this from the Nix

PHOENIX-JETS TICKETS ON SALE FRIDAY
TICKETS for Friday night's 2007 Pre-Season Cup playoff match between
Wellington Phoenix FC and the Newcastle Jets at Westpac Stadium will go
on sale earlier on the day of the match.

Wellington Phoenix chief executive Tony Pignata said tickets would be
available for purchase from the ticketing booth on the stadium's main
entry concourse from midday Friday (August 10).

As has been the case at the Phoenix's previous 2007 Pre-Season Cup home
games, tickets will cost $10 for adults, with children (16 years' and
under) and students (with appropriate identification) admitted free.

With a big walk-up crowd expected for the match, which kicks off at
7.30pm, 14 stadium ticket booths will also be open to sell tickets from
6pm.

"We want people to be able to come to game and enjoy the game-day
atmosphere without having to spend too long queuing for tickets,"
Pignata said.

"Having a ticket booth open outside Westpac Stadium from midday on
Friday should ensure smoother, quicker access for spectators."

Unfortunately there are too many stupid people in this world who will show up at 7:25pm and expect to have their ticket, beer and food purchased and their seat found all before kick off...

We need to be aware of these people. They commonly call themselves "Rugby Fans"!!!

So I saw this, plus the ad on the Phoenix homepage and the discussion about how the Phoenix should be advertising at Wellington universities about the $80 season memberships for students. Figured the term students, without any fine print anywhere, included tertiary/secondary/whatever.. Especially since children are under 16, which covers half of those that are secondary school age anyway.

So turned up only to find that only secondary students are free... Bit disappointed considering the advertising but of course still paid the $10 to watch.

I was going to get a membership if they were $80, but because of this, I'm not sure if they are $80 for tertiary students now..?
