Yes all junior players with a local club get a free childs membership. As for how it is managed, I'm not sure but know it is something the Nix are doing

It's going out via an email to all registered junior players via Capitall Football database. No need for clubs to be involved.

That should boost the membership numbers. Should do it with all junior players nationwide

Thats fine but sadly with the season mostly over for a heap of kids its an opportunity missed..Parents are less likely to act on it with an email in their inbox than they would have done had it been done in a team enviroment. A good idea but sadly like many poorly executed.

They should offer free Sausage Rolls as well!

Wasn't it something like free passes for the first 4 games for junior players?

Cant remember that it was that many, seem to recall Rob proudly mentioning about it at the meeting. But trying to actually find anything about it is a different story.I probably misheard and its actually for Auckland juniors.

UPDATE FROM CAPITAL FOOTBALL ABOUT JUNIOR NIX:

Recently we sent out information about the Junior Nix membership that will see all registered junior players in the region receive a Junior Nix card that entitles them to attend the first three games of the Hyundai A-League season free of charge, plus a single pass for one adult to the first game on Saturday 8 October.

Junior Nix cards will be posted in the next two weeks, so keep an eye out in your letterbox. As some players addresses on our database were incomplete, players should contact angela@capitalfootball.org.nz via email if they do not receive their cards by the first week in October.
After the first three games, players will have the opportunity to sign up for the remainder of the season for just $20 (which also includes a free membership pack).

Just hope they're not using our favourite ticketing company to send those out

Now I'm a feminist, as you'll not be surprised to hear. But there's feminism, and there's just whinging.

I think it's unfair to feminists to call that feminist.  That is just bizarre

That is a perfect example of looking for a problem where there isn't one. Sure would love to have a womens team in the W-League but at the moment the Nix are the closest thing any young footballer have in this country to look up to.

Also Doloras, if you are friends with this person. Maybe comment she can take her girl to Women's National League football for free to watch some top womens football this summer.

I'm very intrigued by the follow up post from them.

... I'm pretty sure it was something like "maybe it would be more inspiring for young girls to be encouraged to look up to women footballers". Also some grumbling about evil corporate Nix "marketing to children".

I did tell her women's national league matches were free. She was like "YEAH BUT STILL". Then I asked her how she'd feel if only boys got Nix tickets.

This^. Would have been a bigger uproar if they had done that.

Wow that is unbelievable!

I thought I'd heard it all with the whole white-people-with-dreads thing, but this kinda takes the cake.

She obviously did not watched that strange Tim Cahill/FOX AD to see how much influence men's football could have on a young girl. Someone should forward that to wind her up.
