Tim Payne
He's either not an agent or f**king dim.
Good luck to the lad though. I hope he excels at Blackburn.

This.
How do schools recruit? I went to school to gain an education, not chase a football round a park.

Obviously not good enough to be recruited
(Couldnt resist)

Some students want to win titles. They go to certain schools that will give them that opportunity.

Sacred Heart is a private school, so I'm guessing scholarships

Why not play club football then? If i was job hunting i wouldn't look at a place and think "I wonder how many football titles i can win here".

Isn't it that some schools basically run academy style programmes, training every day, before school etc. which most schools can't afford to implement. Kids know this and get into these schools when they probably couldn't afford to go there or the school works around eligibility issues. Even at HVHS about a decade ago when we were dominating national basketball, we had an excellent coaching setup and a kid from Nelson came across for a year to be involved in that.
For these kids, they are looking at getting the best sporting education they can.

To be honest anything i know about school football i've only been made aware of since i have left, and seen the effect it can have on students who i have played senior football with. Only then did i realize how important sport (in particular football) was to certain schools and the lengths some take to get or keep their students playing for the 1st XI or XV or whatever sport concerns them.
Don't mean to keep banging this drum but during my 5 college years i couldn't of cared less about what school had the best football team or who were favourites for the nationals etc etc. I went to get decent grades and a proper education because that is what school is for. If i wanted to play football i played for my club, like normal people do.
School of Hard Knocks followed by the University of Life FTW.
The only reason MAGS is good is because Kevin Fallon goes around offering scholarships to the best youth players in NZ inviting them to come play for his team, not because hes a good coach. If he was a decent youth team he would be doing NZU17s or Coaching the youth teams for Auckland City or Waitakere. The Fact that Sacred Heart won School Nationals this year is a complete joke. A decent school would be Tauranga Boys College because they dont board students. MAGS, AGS, Sacred heart, Hami Boys, Napier Boys, Palmy Boys, West Lake etc.. All Board footballers from other regions and can afford to give away scholarships. James Pamment and Paul Probert have done a class job with them over the years considering how limted they are for players in the region. AS FOR TIM PAYNE. Sure he will sign for blackburn.. doesnt mean hel be playing in the EPL. Hes not that good. Hel be playing in the youth team. To go from NZ to ENG is a massive leap and tbh i doubt he will last. He'l probably end up like michael built or cameron lindsay

Thats not very nice or accurate as SH beat AGGS in the semi 3-2 with a screamer goal from Tim that no goalie wouldve saved, absolute rocket. Then AGGS went on to beat MAGS in playoff for 3rd so was some serious ammo in the mix then 1 week later SacredHeart beat MAGS for Akld KO final 3-2 when were down 1-0 after 1 minute.Sacred Heart had 3 x NZU17 boys including the boy who scored first hat-trick for NZ male at a FIFA WCup so not fair to bag them then they have one of the best age group defenders as well.
I did'nt mention Fallon. Auckland Grammar have always had good coaches. Even an ex AW principle.
I have yet to see anything confirming this Tuiloma thing.
