Sydney FC have appointed former Wellington Phoenix boss Tony Pignata as the club’s new CEO.
Pignata, who was also previously CEO of Football Federation Victoria, brings a wealth of experience to the Sky Blues, as they continue the club’s change room-to-boardroom revelopment.
Sydney FC Chairman Scott Barlow said Pignata’s football experience would be a huge bonus to the club.
“Tony has a proven track record of successfully managing an A-League club and a State Federation as well as a wealth of commercial acumen gained from his background in the Banking and Finance industry.”
Pignata, who quit his post at Wellington two years ago, said he was excited to be back in the Hyundai A-League.
“Sydney FC is one of the flagships of the A-League and it will be a privilege to work at such a strong club at what is a very exciting time in the evolution of the competition.
“It’s great to be back in football, which is my passion, and I look forward to working with the Board, staff, players and fans at Sydney FC.”
