As demonstrated on another thread - Daniel's brother has decent written English, he's staying with Daniel for the first part of his contract...  Don't know if he speaks as well as he writes, or if he's doing 'official' translation work though.

he can probably understand quite a bit of english, or will be able to come start of the season. Most people i have encountered who cant speak english understand quite a bit. I met a few brazilian greeks in athens and they couldnt speak english but understood a lot

Daniel's brother Ricardo has gone back home for now. Sounds like the team are gonna have a few laughs playing tricks on Daniel with his lack of English

I think that they will probably pick up English pretty quickly while they are here (otherwise I would be keen for the translation gig too).  I'm not sure how easily they will adjust to the weather though.

It might take the brazilians a while to get used to the food here too.  I hope there are some good brazilian restaurants in Wellington.
