who else off this board is heading into Wellies for their first look at the Phoenix???

Holeinone is heading down with a car load, but i think you've already been down eh??

and wolfben has turned up before on an epic bus trip i think

so give us a shout if you're a Nix virgin (so to speak ) so Frankie Mac can by you a beer (it'll be a bit warm and flat by the time he gets it to you though)


edit - Frankie is generous by all accounts but he's in Leeds (just so you can't sue me or him for breach of promise )

It's not the first time for me (been down 3 times) , however it is the first time travelling alone haha, am a 'bencher virgin though (well, not exactly true as I have spent maybe about 15 minutes overall there, but only to talk to a friend) ... it's not the same travelling alone and going to the games than with friends, the only ones i know that are going are all in the 'prawn' area

sounds like the Bencher would be a plan then, hook up with some of the 'rabble' and your sorted

At the Bencher we're all friends. Just stand at a leaner and starting talking crap about football. You'll fit right in.

I saw the Phoenix vs Queensland in the pre-season cup in Christchurch but that's all I've seen. I'm coming up to see both games with my dad, sister, and brother-in-law (none of whom have seen a Phoenix game except on TV).

Yup this will be my first trip to NIX territory. Me and the little brother heading down from rotorua and kickin it in a backpackers. Gonna be a sweet weekend

Indeed... you won't see me schlepping to the Springs this weekend (or any weekend until the Phoenix season is done).

tigers, its actually my second time at a Nix game. I loved every minute of the 4 - 1 win last time I was there. Hoping for more of the same!

This will be my 3rd and 4th game.

Been on that epic bus trip, and flew down  on the 17th v Sydney.

Well worth the money IMO, currently planning another trip (or 2) in the car.

Bringing down the old man this time so will be allowed to drink at the Bencher

i been to most home games missed newcastle,really looking forward to tonight still stuck with an extra ticket for tonights game i will be in wellington mid afternoon if anyone wants it for $23.00 in fever zone,i will be wearing retro ricki and shorts with tattoos on most of both legs if you want it stop me or pm me in the next hour before i leave.
