Why, we have all off season.

What, to lose a few more players due to personal reasons?

No to sign players. I'm sure we have some lined up that'll be announced when coach is announced. Then we have the rest of the long off season to find others too.

Cos Kosta, Roly, Mossy, probly Lia and what's happening with A-Rod and we've at least gotta beat Merrick's bloody Jets!

It'd help my nerves, that's for sure. Kosta was the return of the prodigal. Great player to have on staff.

So, rumors are that the new coach watched the AWs in NI and is being unveiled in Wellington this week. Do they normally whisk these guys off the tarmac and straight into a press conference or do they give them time to get over jetlag, etc?

Press conference confirmed rather nonchalantly by the Nix on their Twitter by merely retweeting Yakcall's tweet.

Seems the supporters are running things now:

Just had a thought, could it be John Van't Schipp? He left to take care of his dying father but if his dad has passed away he might be coming back to this part of the world?

Will never forget his 100% winning record at Ajax.

He's the coach of PEC Zwolle.

Remember Durante said the coach would excite us, so some sort of former Dutch international is my guess.

He needs to get Anthony Hudson to update his English Wikipedia page for him then.

This news has certainly thrown a cat amongst the pigeons, it's funny how a rumour can grow until most people (including the media and commentators) treat it as fact.

I'm excited for tomorrow at 11.

Don't even go there. He did well at Burton riding on his predecessors coat tails. He inherited a squad that was about to do well and it did. At QPR he was as big a flop as Chris Ramsey.

Pretty exciting time for us fans really. New manager revealed today, the team from last season more or less gutted with a couple of foreign player spots now open and a bit of cash freed up in the process. A lot of us have bitched and moaned about the team, players and management and now we have got our wish - gaps for new players, club has appointed a European coach, I'm ready to fall in love again.... what about you?

This! Was thinking we have never had a clean out like this before and people on the forums have been asking for this before too. So its a chance for a new coach to rebuild. I'm going to give them a chance and see what happens, starting with the coach announcement today.

Will be the biggest rebuild in the clubs history.

I'm so hyped, if you think about it then this club really is a great opportunity - niche club, in an outsider country, competing against the big boys from the big country, plenty of room for ambition. Hopefully this manager can convince a few great foreigners to come along for the ride.

I wonder if our new manager, whoever they are, has a Redknapp - Kranjcar/Defoe/Crouch relationship with some decent overseas players?

Cheers, hopefully a better quality version is chucked on youtube or something as it keeps cutting out and the sound is bad.

Well, so much for my source. He's dead to me now.

So, Kalezic. This should be interesting, having effectively an unknown quantity as a coach.

Pretty sure he said he's been in the Netherlands for 26 years, possibly said he's a Dutch national? And he's 47. So your source wasn't necessarily wrong.

His CV etc underwhelms me but he is different to what we have had in the past and I'm willing to give him a chance and see what they bring. We have had a lot of players go and he has the chance to build the squad how he likes it so we will see what happens, so I will remind positive at this time.

Technicalities! I'll take them!

Also, Vidosic confirmed as assistant. Nice.

This guy is a coach which I think is what we need.  He's got quite a big job to rebuild the side but this feels like the right type of coach to me

Given his history suggests that this is going to be a complete disaster, I'm not confident.

However I'll be watching closely to see what he does this offseason. Here's hoping he can make an impact with some signings.
