Have i lost the plot somewhere or was there no news coverage (TV) of the Phoenix first big win, c'mon TVNZ and TV3 get your chit together and give the lads some support.

Heres hoping that the Media pick up on this great opportunity to have a real alternative to Rugby/League in this country.

Do we have to wait until the World Cup is finished and the country is in mourning once again, to see the real birth of the WORLDS major sporting code take flight (excuse the pun lads)  in this country.

GO THE PHOENIX (And sclew the sad sacks that don't want to come along)

There was a good page in the Dom this morning, with photos and 2 articles.

Well done Fred.

All I do is make the stuff I would've liked
Reference things I wanna watch, reference girls I wanna bite
Now I'm firefly like a burning kite
And yousa fake fuck like a fleshlight

The lack of TV coverage by our news media is starting to get rediculous.

Frist the U20's go to a world cup that was touted as being in the top three attended and veiwed global sporting events this year, without harldy a wimper or a glance from our TV news media. If it had been a junior Rugby suqad at an event 1/5th of the size it still would've had a minute of coverage every night while they tourney was on. The bloody sailing occupied about 5-10 minutes every night. . . what a crock, the only reason peple got itno it was becasue they were hoodwinked into thinking that the team was a nationally representative one. It's become a joke.

Then yesterdays' game goes completely unnoticed. While sporting events with smaller crowds continue to get medai attention,a nd the only football story they do run is a cynical piss take at the Beckham circus. . . . . What is wrong with these people? ? ?

Fairfax and Radio Networks are about the only media covering football at the moment, and neither is TV. . . .

I say YF should boycott TVNZ and TV3. We should get our news from the web, or the international media and local newspapers until the TV news casters promise to shape up.

Yea definitely agree terrible coverage, I sent complaints to both today, and I imagine a stream of responses may help. It does with sky anyway, when they put on the second leg of Australia v Uruguay on due to public pressure, when it was not scheduled to be showing. Not acceptable, especially when there was a 2 minute section on David Beckham at the Galaxy that didn't even show Chelsea's goal. Football or fashion show?

True, watching Beckham warm up, didn't even see the goal, do we care that much about celebrities??? I guess TV watchers do because of the over blown story on a heiress, but that's another story

The main reason they chose to show Beckham instead of the Phoenix is because it is easier. Not that they will admit that. You don`t need a brain to  put that together.

Why is it that the All-blacks wins somehow make it into the normal segment of the news (whihc is then reapped in sport for some odd reason) while an article about posh and becks moving to the USA gets dropped into the sports coverage?

Surely the two stories should be the other way around? The Beck's / posh story is a culture story and should go in with the gossip/ magazine news, not the sport. .. .

Last year, didn't a couple hundred Victory fans protest outside some media outlet demanding more reasonable coverage?  Fairly militant.  But would give the Chris Mirams of this world something to think about...
