Cricket is on SS2 tomorrow from 2pm till 9:55pm followed by our Big Game.    So my question is if the cricket runs over does that mean we'll once again get delayed coverage of Our Big Game due to Super 14 and NRL being played on the other sports channels. Asking because of what happened with the Melbourne away game.

Anyone know for sure if the cricket will be cut off?

Cheers and GO NIXGeorge Costanza2010-03-13 00:13:22

Ive got Iraqgoals lined up if that should happen.

And if it does..
I can name a few Sky Sports presenters I would like to f**k up.

Cheers.
Stefan.

Are you asking whether New Zealand can bat out 50 overs? A week ago I would have been concerned, but now I don't you've got anything to worry about (famous last words).

So if there is a quick change over from the cricket to the Nix does that mean there is no prematch buildup program?...the answer is probably yes.

I really have to say the quality of sports delivery from Sky sucks. If you have been in Oz and seen what Fox does with football then you realise what shiite we get dished up from Sky.

Take Skys replay of last weekends game against the Jets. I settled in at 6pm to watch. Well the cut the first 90 minutes down to 60 mins. They did show the full extra time and interviews but obviously they wanted to squeeze the whole thing into less than 2 hours. I thought there must have been something important live showing after but nope...they had a program showing old rugby league tries....go figure that.

Wish we had an alternative to Sky for football.....I would jump in a flash!

Saw an add on sky last nite for the game and its not due to start till 9.50 so looks like we will miss most of the build up.

WTF is on the other channels?! Aren't Phoenix games normally on SS1?

I would be so incredibly pissed off if the game is not shown live it is not even funny.

Cricket till 9.50 on SS2 (which is when the Phoenix come on, so pray for no rain/slow over rates - at least there will be no (un)super over), Rugby on SS1 and League on SS3.
I hope, given the importance of the game, they will throw us on the sport Highlights channel if the cricket runs over, but don't count on it given sky's past history.

Crickets been known to go well past 10pm as well in these day/night games. So could well be delayed tonight.

Yes. I thought they had the paraolympics on them but i'm wrong.

I don't see why they can't use the Highlights channel or even switch over to Sky news. PRetty sure Aus did that last year?

ive got a song that wont take long, Adelaide are rubbish.. the second verse is same as the first.. ADELAIDE ARE RUBBISH

My worry, Tonights the night we want the cricket to be finished as fast as possible but we all know Todays going to be the day New Zealand scores 350 and then the aussies take the full 50 to chase it down.

Hope you're right EG. Cause I rang sky and they have no contingency plan as yet if the cricket goes over. She thought I was talking about Rugby! She also said I had to keep checking the electronic programme guide for updates. I told her I was going to the cricket and that would be impossible to do. Man oh man.   Sky better sort themselves out

Don't worry O6, I have complete and utter faith in the ineptness of our batting.

anyone going to the cricket and leaving early.

Same, usually, but in a dead rubber, I feel Aussie will have an eye on the tests while we will throw everything at them to avoid a series thumping. I reckon we'll win. And chasing. And it'll be close. I am fully prepared for delayed coverage.

wouldnt put anything past Sky TV to be honest. but I have more faith in the cricket ending early more than sky showing some commonsense

LMAO yeah, I forgot about the fact that the Black Caps always pull out sensational results when no-one is watching/caring/series is dead/game doesn't matter.

Agree with you Ahmad. I dont think there will be a big crowd at the ROF today. infact if the organisers are smart they will slash ticket prices.. but back to the main issue...GO THE MIGHTY Phoenix and YELLOW ARMY. Defeat the Enemy!!

If sky dont make use of the highlights channel for a phoenix game of this magnitude, they deserve to be shot.

The other time it went over it was the twenty/20 domestic final, and it went to a 'power over' which involved six balls delivered and half an hour of f**king about in the field.

Doesn't happen in t20 matches.  NZ's score wasn't huge, so we should be right.

If the two spinners bowl their ten overs the game should finish earlier. I wouldnt be surprised if sky made us watch the after match cricket interviews over the football.
