lucky you must be joking, the guy flopped....and rightly got booked for it.

Was one that could have gone either way. Paston dived at his feet and didn't get the ball. The guy fell as you would expect a striker to. Seen a lot of them get given before. I don't think he should have got booked.

Nice to see that the NZ Herald was quick to point out our prediciment.

Front page.

Although it seemed to have changed from the NZPA verison they had up at just after 6 which said basically said, nix suck, could only manage ANOTHER nill-nill loss.

Maybe they realised that this was infact our first clean sheet of the season.

Yea. I think if the same thing happened on the other side of the pitch we'd be going mental.

I looked at the penalty shout as Paston hitting thin air and as the player went past him (not sure who), left the boot out and initiated the contact. It looks like a rather odd motion on the slow motion and you can see a rather unusual motion with his boot around Pastons body.

Wasn't a penalty, and I'm not sure if I would have carded that dive. That being said, the ref was pretty unusual at times...

When I saw the replay on TV, I thought it was quite lucky, Paston was a bit reckless, and although the player left the boot in to ensure contact was made, I think we were lucky to get away with it.

The away fans zone is where you should sit. If you want to wank on about how crap Herbert is, how crap the phoenix are and cheer on CCM, there is a place for you to do that. Over there, you can talk about how crap the atmosphere is here and how good it will be when you go back to the UK for a visit. Just f... off and talk like that elsewhere.

Kind regards,

Someone who hopes to never see you at a game again.

Yet they were in Phoenix gear...  Will sit elsewhere if I see them at the next one!
Average game, very much an exercise in frustration, but some great individual plays at times.  I was struck by how much the teams took turns to dominate posession.

Nicky Travis for man of the match.
McGlinchey looks like he will be handy for the All Whites.

Oh, did the Phoenix play too?

only 88 to go now Bevan!!!

could be " boredom >> frustration >> boredom >> frustration >> boredom >> frustration >> boredom >> frustration >>boredom"   x  10  =  90

I enjoyed watching the young fellas.

Rojas doing all right.  How good will he be in 3 years time when he's made it out of his teens?

This week I am not as deflated as last week - a draw was a fair result. But I think the ref was inconsistent and missed a few blatant dives by CCM.

Really enjoyed hearing FZ in good form and full flight. Especially when there were two sets of chants going at the same time. "Greenacre my Lord" grew as the game wore on, and nice to see Iffil applauding you after some hero worship!

I've really blown it with the kids re role model. Last week some rude words were loudly espoused and this week the words "t*sser, you're, Ref, a" formed a sentence said several times.

Yea man. One team would dominate for 10-20 minutes at a time, then couldn't do anything for the next 10 minutes.

Have just read an article on Stuff, credited to NZPA and f*** me

- A Sheffield United playmaker called Travis scored only for Matt Simon to be ruled offside. I wasn't aware the Blades were playing.

- 17 year old Marco Rojas made his debut - I'm going to get my eyes checked because I swear I saw him play in Melbourne a couple of weeks ago.

- Paul Ifill is English  - fair enough I guess, but he is a Barbadian international, not an English one. We don't call Danny Lee Korean, or Joe Rokocoko Fijian do we?

Dear NZPA,
can we please have some dedicated football writers?

Nice to see you looking on the funny side of things. He's a laff-a-minute guy. Except when we're playing and then it's flip a coin time judgements.

That sucks. Especially the Rojas call. I assume Football reporting is getting harmed with the reduction of staff in the NZPA and other newsrooms - like a lot of other things. Rubbish though. Not good enough. Sometimes it hurts being in New Zealand where Football is treated so badly...

To be fair to the NZPA, Dullhurst did say it was Rojas making his debut, and made quite a big deal of it.  Not sure if he watches any A-League other than what he commentates on.

Bring back Daniel!!!!

Actually 0-0 against the number 2 side in the league is not that bad. it just seems bad in the context of drawing all those previous games we should have won. CCM are a very good side, tight, well organised. Normally we would settle for a point but we are just getting desperate.

Should be a quiet week for posting....everyone should be happy, the kids got a run, we did not lose.

What would you do now if you were Ricki? who is left to play? what formations are left to try? Do we just keep trying and hope one day the goals start going in?

Play a proper 4-4-2, or at least have someone playing a full forward position with Greenacre.

Of concern - crowd only 6700 or so. Back to the faithful mob. That game is hardly going to inspire thousands more to come along. I know what all the non football followers will be saying about a 0-0 draw, whether they watched it or not.
Wins bring crowds.
TV3 made a 'special mention' of 'yet another draw' at the end of the sports news last night. Alistair kindly remined the sports chick that 'at least it wasn't a loss' cue; giggles all round
No coverage, despite the game being over for an hour, Probably tonight?

Rep tournaments around the country this week, so a few hundred players, parents, coaches and referees out of town for the weekend.

3 wont cover it tonight - it's yesterday's news.

Buy some-one taller than 5'3" for the front end of the park and to help out at corners
