The plan is to meet at the Cambridge when doors open, get a good atmosphere going, and keep it rolling to the Basin to see the Phoenix in action for the first time..

From 11am the Cambridge will be offering happy hour prices to all Yellow Fever members , with a FREE BBQ when you buy a Jug of Beer

YF will be there with Raffles and Meat packs to help fund the running of the website and other Fever activities

You can also buy your Retro Ricki tops there - so WEAR YOURS IF YOU HAVE ONE.

We should start some chants when we walk down to the Basin as a big group. I just saw that students with ID get in free, good times :)

A VERY reasonable $30.

You can grab one at Champs beforehand if you're in that part of town.

We will be giving out membership cards that will give you ongoing drink specials - not only at Cambridge, but Electric Ave and the new sports bar that is gonna open in Courtney Place later in the year. We are gonna get bars and retailers on board to give you member discounts. Champs will be into it too. More details later

Wellington

THE impact of continuing heavy rain on the playing surface at the Basin Reserve has forced Wellington Phoenix FC to shift its 2007 Pre-Season Cup match against Sydney FC to Newtown Park.

Despite the best efforts of Basin Reserve ground staff to have the playing surface up to scratch for the match, set for 2pm on July 22, it was decided the pitch would not be ready in time and that the Phoenix-Sydney FC clash would instead go ahead at Newtown Park.

Wellington Phoenix FC officials decided that the risk of injury to players from staging the match on the sodden surface was too great.

Wellington City Council staff are now working to have Newtown Park currently in the midst of a major redevelopment ready for the big game.

Kickoff for the match at Newtown Park is 2pm on Sunday, July 22.

lmao! We'd have to rename the Fever zone to "Infidel Zone".  I like the idea of Newtown Park because the team have been training there and know the pitch more than the Basin.

i was opposed to the greek only zone but apon further investigation its actually olympic zone (just all the greeks that told me said it was a "greek zone") so i dont care, good for olympic players to have their own area.... Mumia Abu Jamal is an award winning journalist on death row. He reports and writes about racism and police violence in usa society, also on how the government there systematically oppresses ethnic moniorities. I find his work very interesting and support his fight for freedom, check out his videos on youtube if you want.

ps he is not a muslim, and neither am i
