Vince Lia's Testimonial Match | March 11 2.30pm | Davey F | feat. Fever Dreams fundraiser

Vince Lia is turning 10 years old, and we want to give you a chance to play in his testimonial match!

In conjunction with the Phoenix, we've got 1 playing spot in the match available to give away, and we've decided to use it as a fundraiser to top up the Fever Dreams account for next season and beyond.

In case you didn't know, Fever Dreams is where we pay for a family from the Ronald McDonald House to have a VIP experience at each of the Phoenix home games. Sometimes being stuck somewhere can be annoying and there is nothing better than getting out in the fresh air and watching some football.

For every $5 you donate, you'll get an entry into the draw to win a seat at the Yellow Fever table at the testimonial dinner. And for every $25 you donate, you'll be in with a chance to win a playing spot in the testimonial match, taking the field alongside Phoenix legends Paul Ifill, Andrew Durante and Daniel, as well as many others.

https://givealittle.co.nz/cause/vinnystesty

Even if you're not able to donate, get down to David Farrington Park on the 11th of March to say thanks to Vinnie and his 10 years of service to the Phoenix!

I've donated myself to have a chance to play in the match! Also, page gives a moderation warning. Page has been moderated it is just also waiting on the 3 donations moderation so once two more have been made. That will go as well.

I don't think there will be any coverage of the game apart from maybe twitter updates.

We will be drawing the prizes for the Fever Dreams give a little tonight, make sure you get your donation in if you want to have a chance to play in the match or come to the dinner (or even just to help keep Fever Dreams going)

Yes!

Otherwise, we are hoping if he does play then Patrick will send him off.

Email from the club!

Thanks for your support - there are two massive home games yet to come in the league so please continue to get behind the boys as we push for Nix in the six!

As you know, Wellington Phoenix is celebrating it's tenth year in the Hyundai A-League and throughout it all, through the highs and the lows, there's been one man - Vince Lia.

It's only ONE MORE SLEEP until his very special testimonial match and a celebration dinner!

For all the event details check out our Facebook page: here.

The tickets for the dinner have almost entirely sold out - but if you're still keen email events@wellingtonphoenix.com ASAP and we might be able to fit you in.

There's also a Silent Auction - see here for a list of terrific items.

Place a bid on the night or send via email to events@wellingtonphoenix.com, accompanied by your name, address, email and cell number. You will be notified of your success or otherwise immediately and payment must be made within 24 hours.

Deadline for pre-bids TOMORROW 12pm.

Both silent and main auction items are open to pre-bidding, but you may be overbid on the night for the main auction items.

Tickets for the match are straightforward - just rock up and you can grab them at the gates - Adults $10, Kids (under 12) $2.

Come watch as Vince Lia Legends XI take on the Mayor's XI - 2.30pm, David Farrington Park, Miramar.

The weather gods may not be smiling too kindly so make sure you bring a rain jacket - but it won't stop former stars like Daniel, Michael Ferrante, Paul Ifill, Ben Sigmund and Manny Muscat from getting involved!

We'll have Garage Project's specially commissioned Wellington Phoenix-themed beer for purchase, some delicious food options, a signing session with Nix stars (past and present) and a chance to chat with some of the players that have defined this club so far.

He's a man who bleeds yellow and black - his journey is interwoven with our own - so come join the Phoenix family for a fun day and night that will long remain in the memory.

Some questions for the referee on the game:

How was your movement and positioning in Vinnies Testy?

Did you show stamina and good change of pace in Vinnies Testy?

Did you use all your control techniques to ensure the image of the game and player safety was enforced in Vinnies Testy?

Perhaps you needed to get a firm grip on Vinnies Testy, especially when Sigmund was involved? Discuss...

Did you help to contribute to an enjoyable spectacle for the fans watching Vinnies Testy?

One would assume you adopted good positioning so you did not get hit by the ball in Vinnies Testy?

Did you nearly score? And who did? Crowd numbers?

Piney got a straight Red and later Blue Card. Mambo with a great save to deny Patrick a goal.
