I know we are still a few weeks away, but I'm starting to really ponder the lineup for this first game.

I've got a feeling that Ifill wont be fit, and its sounding like Sanchez wont be either.

So based on those two both not being available, I think we will see something like this:

                       Moss
Bertos Sigmund Durante Lochhead
                Lia         Muscat
 Brockie         Smith            Totori
                  Huysegems

If either Sanchez or Ifill are fit, you would swap out Lia and push Smith back deeper. But otherwise theres not really any other guys more worthy of starting for me. If both are fit then I would expect to see Totori slip to the bench, but I doubt Sanchez is gonna be fit

How about that Huysegems guy?

We will never fully decide who has won the football.

How did Lindsey go in the pre season games. Herbert indicated that he expected him this year to start pushing for a spot on the team, but i have barely heard him mentioned in anyway??

Is he up to the standard?

I hope the club have gotten together with the former CEO (and Qantas plus a hotel/chain here) and put a package together to get a shed load of Blingologists over here for the match. It'd be great to have some of 'em to wave to over in aisle 2/3.

But serially, the whole ADP thing provides the perfect opportunity for us to kick of the season with a big crowd and massive coverage (esp on the West Island) so I hope DD & co are onto it.

If we haven't got at least 15k I'll be disappointed. And I would imagine they will be too.

I hate to say it, the timing of this game is not good. It`s the same weekend as the World Wearable Arts Festival. I booked an airfare down from Auckland 3 weeks ago at double the normal cost and on top of that accommodation  is extremely scarce.
Another thought.....Does that mean we have to paint on the stripey`s for that weekend?

I am just going to re-iterate here that the wearing of a Juventus shirt in the Fever Zone at a Sydney FC match is NOT acceptable, just as wearing a LIverpool one when Fowler played was not (many would say that is never acceptable).

Please take this in to consideration

Team Wellington have a new Adidas stripey, quite similar to the Nix one.

Fuck this stupid game

Their Lotto one would have clashed too. Dunno if they have the new one or are wearing it yet.

An inside source has told me that for this first game, the nix are planning to throw a "Fan Trail".
Sounds like a mini party at Queens Wharf from around 4pm then parade/ walk down to the stadium for the 7.30pm kickoff. There will be freebies and other stuff I believe. Kinda interesting.

Also for those interested, it sounds like the nix open day will be Sunday the 30th

Just what we need. I hope good weather, ADP and the party will encourage lots of people to go to RoF!

Sounds good.  30th might be a bit dodgy for Jnr Jnr - hopefully times will be good.

wrong that we will only get 20k or wrong that its double what our average is?

I think we will get about 16k and our average of the year will end up being 12-14k as we run towards the playoffs

C-Diddy, sorry don't know how to PM in the new forum. There is a local bus going from Napier/Hastings to the Sydney game. Leave Napier 2:30 and return right after the game. $80 includes ticket and snacks [was breadroll and drink last time I think]. If you email me at work, I can send you the details - only 20 spaces apparently as at lunchtime today. wayne@hbrc.govt.nz

Sydney are likely to leave a decision on his readiness for the A-League proper until later in the week, with the squad travelling to Wellington for round one on Thursday.

But club officials believe the Italian striker will be involved in some capacity, and the Wellington supporters are certainly gambling so.

Tickets for A-League games went on sale on Friday morning, in what the league dubbed Del Piero day.

On the first day, more than 1000 were cleared by Phoenix for the game with Sydney, which as Wellington staff pointed out was a tenfold increase on the usual pre-sales a fortnight before the game.

Phoenix are predicting a full pre-sale in five figures and a huge overall crowd, and say even their season ticket sales are up 50 per cent on this time last year.

Phoenix general manager David Dome said: "I don't want to start talking about a (34,000) sell-out or anything like that, but we're looking at a big crowd."

With Sydney flying in on the Thursday, we should get some good TV coverage in the couple days leading up to the game.

We won't get a sell out.  TBH I don't think we'll get more than 15k.  I'm cynical yes but have been disappointed everytime the Nix have talked up getting a big crowd.

How many sky Buses have been chartered by said knee fans to see ADP in his first match. Will we get a low away team turn out or even worse they don't play him so his first match is a home game.(may develop a slight knigle to aid this)
