But good result, very happy with the 3 points.
Hope to catch the highlights soon

Ricki made a hash of the whole thing, auskiwi. We won despite his coaching.

Funnily enough the last time Ward did anything for Melbourne was his cracker against Sydney last season

That's true. Also, what was with the KORB banner at the game tonight. Did HN put that up?

KORB = Knights of the Round Ball, a breakway forum from 2005 that left SBS World Game at that time. HN is part of it.

With respect, you would get a lot more respect if you took your mouth out of the potty

probably, but when people blatantly talk crap, they have to have a taste of their own medicine imo.

And two pottys make?
I agree with a bit you say especially when your talking to the rose coloured glasses brigade and theres no doubting your passion.
Thumbs up to that.

Did Robbie Slater come over for this?

Loved the presentation of North before the game.

Who were the twats - sorta funny - that went in front of the Sydney fans and waved their shirts off and stuff? Kinda asking for trouble with that sort of stuff.

Thought the Sydney fans made good noise for their numbers.

They may have a sh!t team, but they are a good bunch of fans.

Is this a good summary of our game?

Hope Ward doesn't do an Elrich and score a ripper on home debut then is sh*t after that. Thought he was good around the park though today.

Hope not.

If I was a neutral that would have been the most boring game ever. First half anyway.

Yeah, notice the highlights are only the second half.
Watch the Ward goal 10+ times. Gave me goosebumps.

disagree about greenacre. wasn't terrible but i personally don't think he wins enough 50/50 or creates enough or scores enough. sure he runs all day and if you're happy with that then that's fine. just my opinion that he's not the legend everyone seems to think he is. like i say that's my opinion if you don't agree, that's all good. calm down chump.

altho agree about ward. passing to feet and moving into space. pulling the strings. he was mint.

Good to watch a replay at home. Penalty was class, not sure about the Sydney offside goal, but Ward's shot was one for the books.

Good to see Sydney fans travelling to support the team, stay classy Sydney!

i thought we were lucky... we done same thing as GCU game we sat back..... we shouldn't have we were only 1 up and well sydney scored...

thought hearfield had a good game
and liked greenacre, except one time when rushing to beat keeper to ball he pulled out, when i thought he could of made it, still nearly did...

Apart from playing Sydney onside for the goal, running up a blind alley twice, and not delivering a single ball into the box he had a great game.

You are laughing because Hearfield played Cazarine onside, right?.

Greenacre was very good.

Scrappy game but got the result we needed.

he had a huge improvement from late. he looked hungry, and i think alot of defenders would of dne the same, it was a great move from sydney. it wasnt a great game, but was a good game i thought

No, I don't think so, that was a nicely worked 1-2 by Sydney.

I thought individually we played fair better last night than the previous two weeks. The likes of Ifill and Leo showed more attacking intent and our defenders were far sounder. Still a lack of decent ball for Greeny in the middle but hopefully that will come as the season progresses and the team finds their feet. Ward was brilliant, and the midfield looked far more in control for the bulk of the game. An average first half, apart from the first 10, but I really enjoyed the second.

My heart did stop every time the ball went near Vukovic, Paston's place in the starting team is certainly safe for now.

Three points we definitely needed, but before we get too excited Sydney were pretty average, as they have been all season.

Now for Melbourne!

It would be good if Hearfield lacked pace - cos then he'd never start, and the Phoenix is really two different sides, home Phoenix and away Phoenix. Home Phoenix rules.
I like tautologies because I like them.

I thought everyone looked committed last night. Leo looked more enthusiastic. Standouts for me were Ward and Manny. Someone else who I'm normally a big critic of is Lochhead but he had a great game last night. Surprised it hasn't really been mentioned.

Maybe I'm an optimist but I thought last night's game was very positive. Far from perfect, but Bertos, Ifill, and Greenacre were far improved imo, Manny, Durante, Siggy were typically reliable. Ward was obviously very promising, and Lochead was alright too. Hearfield needs a spell on the bench asap, and Vuko will need to improve alot to get any game time once Paston returns, but all in all I thought we were much improved on last week. Uphill from here!

You know who I hate now? Murosawa. It seems every time a dodgy foul was called against us or there was some other skullduggery on the pitch, that worthy Japanese gentleman was at the bottom of it.

I was expecting us to play better than we did (seeing as sydney is at the bottom of the table) but Sydney didn't play too badly and we played really well!
I was ball girl down at the goal, opposite the yellow fever and there was so much pushing and shoving that the ref didn't see!
But I got front row seats for the penalty and Ward's goal.
(:
awesome.
