Nah, I disagree.

Professional football is part of the entertainment industry. It's ultimately no different from professional wrestling, or a soap opera on telly, or the pantomime.

The only reason those guys get to be paid for what they do is because of the likes of you and me. I'm not advocating hassling him in the street or anything, but as soon as he steps out on that pitch in a Victory shirt he's fair game, and we should give him both barrels.

And when he pulls on an All Whites shirt, he's a hero again. Easy.
