Curaçao used to be part of the Netherlands Antilles. That federation of all the Dutch Caribbean was disbanded in 2010 and now Curaçao is now a "country" in itself of the Kingdom of the Netherlands. Which means it has its own FIFA membership now which used to belong to the Netherlands Antilles.

Seems really stupid, he went to Curacao twice and on the way home went direct from Antigua to London and could have cut out Barbados and St Martin on the first part of his trip. Could have been London, Antigua, Curacao, Antigua, Montserrat, Antigua, London for the two games.
Our European AWs probably don't enjoy trips to Wgtn. Two long haul flights and then domestic to Wgtn.

Maybe a Dutch speaker can give a better translation but Google Translate sounds like Roly has an opt out for next season and has attracted interest from Japan and other A-League clubs. Also says we are trying to extend his deal for another couple seasons.
You got that right, he also said in an other interview that he would stay with Phoenix for a maximum of 2 seasons..
His future goal is to play in a strong European competition.

Another Roly article that says he signed a 1 year deal, guess the second year is his option to pick up. Mentions that Curacao was just too far away but he might reconsider if he ends back up in Europe, as he isn't gonna be here still in four years time.

I'm going to to risk blasphemy and say that while Paul Ifill gave us some excellent years of his career, his best were spent in England, playing in FA cup finals etc etc...
Roly's best years of his career could potentially be spent with us.

When he arrived he intimated that this was just a stepping stone, something about preferring to play in front of a full croud. But he said in an article in the netherlands that he is enjoying football so much more here. Enjoying the freedom, etc.
