I'm putting the important stuff (the football) aside for a second to say well done YFers. GREAT atmosphere in the zone last night (despite the smaller crowd around the rest of stadium). Keep it up!

Yeah, the vibe was probably the best I've seen in there even though security were preventing others from joining us. Good to see the zone spreading too.

Our Popovic send off earned itself a special mention on Sky News Australia last night too

At the time I thought this who are ya has been kicked off far too early, he's still got 100 yards to walk! But a Triumph of Fever endurance that we kept it going all the way to the tunnel.

Yeah, that's the first time I actually sat in the zone(my passes are there and i havent missed a game but I just havent been in the zone) and it was great. Atmosphere was great! especially when popovic got sent off was a it of fun. Congrats guys great atmosphere. Too bad the crown was lacking from netball

I actually thought we were pretty flat at times...especially early on in the game and mid-way through the second-half before Popovic got sent off.
Some classy chants made up on the spot though - 'you've got a midget/two midgets in your team' being a personal favourite.
'We are the Phoenix FC/from the ashes are we' is a great chant and we should stick with it, but it seemed that a lot of people in the zone weren't familiar with it which was a bit disappointing. But at the times we got it together it was awesome though.

Awesome work lads. I was in aisle 22 with my mate who wanted to watch a match away from the zone for a change, and since it was his last match before leaving I indulged him, but spent every minute wishing I was among it! Managed to haul arse to the tunnel though for the WHO ARE YA, and still chanted my head off, standing up while surrounded by empty seats and people sitting down.

Come Adelaide, I'll be back in 21. FORZA YELLOW FEVER!

I have to agree that it was piss funny to see 2 security guards and a team manager escort Popovic to the changing rooms. What did they think we were going to do, throw beer bottles at him.......oh rite, thats been done.

(Just to remind people, beer bottle throwing is in no way funny!) lol

Was impressed that half the stadium joined us in the fever zone with the 'who are ya' chant when Popovic  was getting escorted up the tunnel. 2ndBest2007-11-18 18:01:49

You're saying the lack of bare flesh in the fever zone caused our penalty concession?  heh.

I was well impressed to see the "who are ya" all the way round to aisle 25-ish, and seeing it last the whole way till popovic was out of sight.  I agree though that the zone was a bit flat to start with and it was only after popo got sent off that the zone really heated up, which was great.  I guess we were just out of practise :)

There would have been more in the Zone if it wasn't for the weird looking old crow in the Mongrel Mob baseball cap checking tickets and turning people away, as they came through.

It was pretty empty where we were the 2 rows infront of us were not full, except for the idiot that had the flag 5 times I asked him to lower it then he moved and a dad and kid came over so I asked them to lower it too!

Can't bloody see when your waving your flags!!!

other than that I had a great time so did my boys see them shirtless in the gallery

That walk of shame chant was piss funny. I had a sore throat afterwards but boy was it worth it!! Real class and Popovic will remember it in his Autobiography one day!
Proud to have attended the first 175 Consecutive "Home" Wellington Phoenix "A League" Games !!

yeah, it was quite odd after a 3(?) week break and took a while to get back into it - the opening 'carnaval' did not get much support and Phoenix City was a bit bemusing

Loved it. I was part of the "14" down from Hamilton (4 of which were kids who joined in with as much as they could, my mate's 6y.o. daughter doing the "who are ya?" was priceless). Great atmosphere for such a sparse crowd. People must be saving up for the All Whites and Bender Beckham. There seemed to be plenty of interest in town that night, lots of people asking us what the result was (tried charging them a dollar for the info, could have made a fortune). We'll be back.
