So hopefully you have all seen the email and maybe already voted, but I thought voting was easy for me and just went Tratt without thinking. Then decided to look into it more.

  • Jacob Tratt
  • Ryan Lowry
  • Dylan Fox
  • Hamish Watson
  • Matthew Ridenton

Tratt - Played 20, Started 20, 1 Goal

Lowry - Played 6, Started 5

Fox - Played 6, Started 4. (Played more last season)

Watson - Played 20, Started 7, 2 Goals (Better goal return (3) last season from less games)

Ridenton - Played 15, Started 6, 1 Goal

I think Fox shows a good future for the Nix and would like some more game time for Ridenton.

Easily Tratt. He's in the frame for the player of the season award for mine, not just the U23 PotY.

I've got daylight in second behind Rossi for POTS, but Tratt isn't even in doubt for this.

Tratt...

what about Singh or Rogerson, yes they might not be making the first team, but they have made progress, including the later making his All White debut.

What's the criteria?

I'd say amount of time played. Singh has only played two games for total of 47 minutes and Rogerson has played 3 games for only 25 minutes. Neither have actually started a game, both have come off the bench.

Tratt is a shoe in for under 23 player of the year, but the potential of the other guys on that list is cause for excitement.

Player of the year criteria to me is the biggest impact as a player.

Yea it says player of the year. Not most improved or biggest step up etc. Think those young lads have been great but the under 23 player of the year for me is tratt by a country mile + 5 more

And... Tratty was the winner. Was he there to receive the award I wonder?

That is FKD up how can the Phoenix expect us to take them seriously. Hope those in attendance from YF didnt just clap politely and congratulate him.Oh hold on. No friggen way does he deserve to be any where near that,.

The end of season awards aren't everything but that really is a joke. If the system is to blame they need a new system. If it's genuinely the coaches opinions then we need new coaches. You would think even Kosta himself would be embarrassed. WP Mickey Mouse awards.

Fuck this stupid game

when they explained how the system worked, it kinda makes sense.

You can get up to 9 point per game, 3 from each of the 3 major coaching staffers.

Kosta had a few games between round 20 and 25 where he was best on pitch (Newcastle 5-0 for example). He picked up lots of points there and that was enough to make him PotY.

If there was a whole season element baked in, Marco Rossi would have won easily, he was the one that deserved it.

Should do a poll on here for the YF player of the season. Bet it wouldn't be Kosta

A few years ago Boyd would have won YF player of the year based on motm votes after each game. Sometimes these flush out wierd outcomes.

I would have gone Krishna or Rossi myself.

Rossi for me, Krishna and Lia not far behind

So couple of spectacular goals after a season of rubbish. Even in the games he scored those goals he was times very ordinary. That decision says as much about our coaches as anything and I really do fear for our team if they are retained. Doubt I'm alone in thinking how the fudge can they give that to him.

Rossi missing out on points because of his missed games due to injury. Kosta was sharke for the first half of the year.

Half the season is being a bit generous. Would have thought Roy deserved it more than him along with another couple of players.

No way Kosta should have been player of the year. I understand it comes down to the 1-2-3 voting system but it does show it is flawed (Like how the Johnny Warren Medal voting used to be)

For me it was either Rossi as our defensive record showed when he played or Krishna.

Well that about sums up the year..best youngest player not currently here? and best player someone who didn't seem to wow fans on here much.

Thought Rossi might have got overall award in terms of influence.
