Good afternoon all,

I have just came back from lunch and my workmate has informed my in Cuba Mall opposite the CD Store (old Fairydown Store)  they are installing a club store.  I guess this will sell shirts, scarfs etc...

Can anyone confirm this?  Will it be short term.  etc???

Sounds interesting but I doubt there is a need for it. Possibly a 2 month long stint would work. Then get the kit into RYOS and Champs. Even the Hurricanes don't have a dedicated store (though Champions of the World is close).

Its no longer a problem.

A dedicated club stor would surely be a money looser. Rents on Cuba aint cheap. Best bet is to stick with existing sports stores as outlets. The club would be crazy to open their own outlet.

i walked past it 20 mins ago. big pheonix posters on the windows. it might be just a 6 month thing as there are also signs up advertising store manager and store professional positions for 6 month long contracts.

Yeah, most clubs sell nearly all there merchandise online now, only the really big clubs have dedicated stores. Also i though the A-league had total control over merchandising and all you can sell is your clubs version of the crap they have on thier online store?

That'd be amazing to have a dedicated store for the first 6 months. Would really put some positive PR in to the city, not that it needs it.

Remember that Terry is a property magnate...so rent may not be a problem!

Cuba Mall & Victoria Street Proposed Development

The redevelopment of Wellingtons Farmers and Former Deka site will become the focus of not only the Cuba Quarter but a focus of Wellington City itself. All will be catered for in the form of a department store, boutiques, cafes, and entertainment. In addition, on site parking, offices, and residential use, will complete, and complement the mix.

A new tree-lined walkway between Cuba Mall and Victoria Street, filled with boutiques, will be an attraction in itself, along with the Roger Walker architecturally designed building..

The original features of the former Deka building will be restored , while the faade of the Farmers building will also be retained, preserving the idiosyncratic character of Cuba Street.

Wahoo, $1 per month rent till they knock it down. Should be long enough. Good on ya Terry.

Its no longer a problem.

As long as he doesn't have to walk to the ribbon opening ceremony.

He went on with the water bottle on Saturday and the player with the torn hamstring beat him back to the bench.

Great news - I take this to mean we'll be able to go kitted out in Phoenix gear to the first game after all.
Man this club is so switched on - what has been achieved in such a short space of time is simply mind boggling.

As a sign of good faith, Champs Sports today cancelled its order of Phoenix replica jerseys and asked that the stock  be made available to the Phoenix shop.

We dont see the point in being in competition with the Phoenix when we should be working with them

If he sells out and no one else has them, more stock will be available pre-Xmas.
