I'll be running the @TeamWelly one for minute-ish by minute-ish updates.
WellyDerby | Saturday 17th Jan | 5pm | Newtown Park
Not sure how accurate they tend to be, been a few times we have snuck in first teamers who weren't mentioned on those. Will wait until the teams are announced before considering putting any money on this.

TW $1.62
Draw $4.25
2ndBest you going to pop a tenner on again :)
Incredible stamina. No shame. Yellow Fever.

The language from some of the Team Welly players is appalling. Really classy at a family event. #WPvTW
racist
Goal TeeDubs!! Gwyther scores from a very very acute angle, and brings the teams level. WeeNix can't believe it wasn't offside. #WPvTW
— Yellow Fever (@YellowFever_NZ) January 17, 2015
53' Peverley takes Hailmariam down as he makes a lighting run in behind the defence. Second Yellow to Peverley and he's off. #WPvTW

Michael Gwyther is played in behind a high line, and Italiano isn't quick enough to get to the ball before its tapped past him into the net.

Was that the final score?
The Ruf, The Ruf, The Ruf is on Fire!!
Was that the final score?
Nix 3:4 TW
Was a very entertaining game, enjoyed it very much.
Sounds like a great game, likewise for other games in this round of the league.
Oi Oi Edgecumbe... lets have a clean sheet
Indeed, that game had it all. What great fun to watch
Was missing the streaker...
What a thoroughly awesom afternoon at Newtown Park. So enjoyable.
Incredible stamina. No shame. Yellow Fever.
Phoenix fans. We have to win them over one fan at a time.
Some great play - Good natured fans keeping out of the sun in the stand. Well done both teams. 2 great games this season.

Is Hailmariam worth a shout for the senior team? Sounds like he's in some good form..

No. Still missing a lot of key skills at this level before making the step up imo. His pace his giving him an edge currently.
Stevens above him for me.
What about Dimario as a RB option?
People like Coldplay and voted for the Nazis. You can't trust people.
What about Dimario as a RB option?
Longer term yes. But right now I think he's not ready.
A run off the bench with 10 minutes to go in an away game might do him some good - get him in the senior team away game travelling clique, and get him in front of a crowd etc. He is playing MUCH better now than at the start of the ASB Premiership when I thought he looked a bit ordinary. But he's obviouly worked hard on positioning and shepparding opponents one way or the other, and catching them they cut back, which is great. His fitness levels look good as well.
However, I think he needs more physically before he's a real contender in the A League. Manny is not large for a defender, and Manny make Dimairo look slight.
Incredible stamina. No shame. Yellow Fever.

What about Dimario as a RB option?
Dimairo. Herculean at his task of whatever TeeDubs threw at him on the left.
Think gave away the penalty.
Def potential.

Fouled the guy who stole it from him. Not his greatest moment, will learn from it as they seem to record the games.
crowd?
Probably 700-800
Is this a good number for a ASB game? I can't find much information on crowd numbers.
Comment in the press report suggested 1000 at the game
When Hibs, went up, to win the Scottish Cup - I wisnae there - furfuxake!
Phoenix must know the numbers, right? I not, they should buy this thing:

Newtown park holds 5000 according to WCC. The ground was not 1/5th full. Grandstand was 3/4 full plus close to 100 on the banking.
I counted 250 not in the stand about 20 or so minutes in.
Either way that's a good ASB Prem crowd. Auckland sometimes spike above 1500 but in the main last season were between 600 and 900. Team Wellington are usually 250-500 with spikes for games like City or the Welly derby.
Occassionally Canterbury and Hawkes Bay have pushed into 4 figures but seem to generally be around 500. The others are generally around the TeeDubs numbers (300 or less)
Interestingly I spoke to Mr. Stantiall after the weekend's game iN Cambridge. He said the crowd was about 500 and said that that was "down a bit for us"...

I was going on last years Wikipedia numbers when i looked a couple of months ago so could be complete bollocks.
Canterbury united numbers are always fudged.
I was at one match where the attendance was announced at something like 500, played again next week and the crowd looked the same maybe slightly more and they announced something like 800-900. People I was standing around just started laughing.
