Obviously you'll all be supporting your second team, Melbourne Victory, as they make their way through the ACL...

Yeah?

Yeah?

Sorry bud, but until the A-League expands to Wollongong the only second team I'll cheer for is whoever is playing Queensland

All the best for a ACL though, naturally I wanna see Australia do well... whenever they're not playing NZ

I'll support Radelaide (waiting for that to be modded). I'm guessing other than fornication people will be getting pissed and trying to live a Phoenix-free life. I know I'll be spending a lot of time questioning my academic ability and wondering whether Uni is the right thing for me.

It's more likely that: "other than trying to live a Phoenix-free life people will be getting pissed and trying to fornicate." Something which is compatible with both the on- and off-season.

Is that Qatar game gonna be shown on Sky here as well? Or are we destined for yet another replay of some inane rugby game from 20 years ago, three channels of golf and one with a cricket replay? Lonegunmen2008-01-30 21:29:41
Proud to have attended the first 175 Consecutive "Home" Wellington Phoenix "A League" Games !!

To mis quote Neil Sedaka (Who?? says all those under 40), Calendar Girl, you could pass the time like this. Football Mum, Hard News, Tiger &  Lonegunman feel free to sing along

January, you are just about all gone,
February, get some sun on the upper scone,
March, right down to Newtown Park
April, down a pint and then take home a fark

Yeah, yeah let's not be alone,
I love, I love, I love  The Yellow Fever Zone
Everyday, everyday of the year.

May,  stay up and watch the F.A.Cup
June,  cant think of anything suitable to rhyme with cup
July,  preseason and ready to go
August, time to see NZ's greatest show

Yeah, yeah let's not be alone,
I love, I love, I love  The Yellow Fever Zone

Nope, there's beach cricket on SS 1, NBL basketball on SS 2 and Superbowl highlights on SS 3.

Rugby League is the worst sport in the world, closley followed by Basketball.

I'd better rip up my Warriors season ticket then!  Basketball, baseball and golf are the most boring sports in the world. I would have added tennis but it's just managed to escape my wrath 'cos watching sweaty blonde chicks running around in short skirts is actually reasonably entertaining.

Apparently I'm apathetic, but I couldn't care less.

Americas Cup  racing is the worst sport of all to watch. Like watching paint dry. And pete montgomery trying to make it sound like a horse race.

If you have emotional investment in the match, there is nothing more exciting than football. The same could be said for any sport, but the value of a goal is unmatched compared to sports like cricket and basketball where a "goal" (run/point) happens every few seconds.

My sentiments exactly. A goal in football is gold. I blame highlights shows on tv for creating that mindset of wanting endless goalmouth action. The beauty of football is largely what's happening in the middle of the park.

Don't think there's too many other sports where you can celebrate a 1-0 loss either.

Three for me, and two for them.

Some people find it odd that you can have a really exciting, end-to-end 0-0 draw. I think it's great!

I know - it could hit the bar 10 times and be a 0-0 draw and people would call it boring. Doesn't make any sense. And if those 10 shots went in they would all rave about it..

btw Tennis is awesome. I always get into it when the Aussie Open comes along. (to the guy that said it was boring)

Agreed. That's why i don't get basketball - more scoring = more boring. Same with 20/20 cricket - i like one-dayers, cos there's an element of building an innings, but 20/20 is too much scoring, not enough in-between.

Can't get into watching tennis for some reason. Fun to play, though.

ps. "scoring" (snicker)
I like tautologies because I like them.
