Serious, we started off like a massive yellow firework display, but apart from flogging a few t-shirts, generally outsinging home fans away, and have a pretty lively forum compared to other supporters, what are we doing to help save the NIX?

Do we need a Saatchi & Saatchi makeover to woo the casuals?

Close Kate Shepperd, get Dj SMithy on the wheels of Steel and forget the football?

I did think we should turn the zone disco one night game with dry ice and mirror balls but no one was loving it.

Used to have an old Blue Peter Annual with Peter Purvis showing you how to make a rattle.

He painted it blue.  Never liked him since then.

He's still alive is'nt he? We could get him to show us how to make them as part of half time entertainment.
We don't have to fork out for a marquee player, yet we have someone megafamous to be associated with our brand - It's a winner.

We would get complete world coverage of that, I'll put in a tenner for his flight over, he could possibly stay in our spare room. OK who's going to contact his agent?

I voted "other".

I am all for more banners and flags, but "insisting" on them misses the point. It's about enabling people to make them and bring them to the games easily, if they want to without being made to feel like a crimminal by the security staff.

Insisting on banners and flags is completely the wrong thing to do. Being banner and flag friendly is a good idea.

Getting positive media stories out there is important.

Incredible stamina. No shame. Yellow Fever.

I voted other

How about 3 games for the price of two or something or 5 games for price of 3

or maybe do a deal with something else i.e ticket to the game and ten pin bowling at lanes after the game

have a raffle or prize every home game draw it by the ticket  or seat number and offer a weekend trip for two to the next away game or maybe keep it going over the whole season with the more entries the better chance you have to win a car or something

How about the Yellow Fever having a whip around and sponsoring my trip down to the remaining home games + finals*

* Sponsorship would involve fuel for the vehicle, fuel for my motor, accommodation and any other exspenses I may incur over the course of the evening!

You can stay at my place for free Coops. Views of the harbour, queen sized slat bed to yourself, off street parking at entrance level...

Incredible stamina. No shame. Yellow Fever.

You do realise that the question is what can The Yellow Fever do to save the Nix, don't you, and not what can the club do?

Just checking. I am not against your ideas there, but they seem more like ideas the club could do than the Yellow Fever.

The best thing you can do (and I'd expect most of you done already) is bring a mate to a game. I became a fan of this side after November 14 (having enjoyed the atmosphere of a Wellington football crowd), and have since dragged along about half a dozen people either down to Wellington or to home games in other centres, and made fans of them too. The best advertisement for this team is the atmosphere at games. If sports lovers in Wellington who don't follow the Nix find out how much more enjoyable a Phoenix game is to another live sporting event, they'll want to come along. It is about creating a buzz that going to a Phoenix game is what you do in Wellington on the weekend. Invite a family member, a mate or colleague to a game and chances are they'll enjoy it.

Oops sorry. In that case. Standing over people and forcing them to come too games.I don't think there is much more we can do, most of us have dragged people along.Reminded workmates and colleagues to go to the games, told your neighbours, maybe even mentioned it to a tourist.popped a flyer on a car windscreen. The only other thing would be for us to buy them the tickets and drive them there ourselves but i can barely afford it myself and coops lives so far away from me

I agree, I have made sure I have dragged along at least one mate per game. On sunday, I think I have 4. One of those is someone who has been coming each week after I first took him.

Sing the correct tune for Stand Up for the Phoenix, and stop singing in faux English accents.
