I went straight to the linesman. I knew 100 per cent it was handball. I spoke to the ref at halftime about it and he said it wasn't deliberate. It's pretty funny that one.
WTF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Its handball ya cheating piece of snot, how the heck did you know it wasnt deliberate and it doesnt matter anyway, it means it shouldnt be a goal!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm more gobsmacked that the officials apparently considered it ball to hand, when the arm was up and extended - not a natural position to be extending your head to reach a ball.
Anyway, IBTL on a duplicate thread.

The final's in Melbourne (isn't it?), so there should be a much bigger crowd than Sydney managed.
Going well off-topic, but why are the FFA thinking of a second Sydney team in 2011/12 when the current Sydney team are getting such poor crowds? Is there a section of Sydney with football fans who don't support FC but who would support the newbies?

Recorded the game and watched the "hand of Pain" incident a dozen times. Definite delibrate hand ball. When you lunge forward to try and make head contact you normally throw your arms back and down for balance and heading power. His right arm was down but he threw his left arm up and forward and wacked the ball into the net.
I recall another time when a player leapt to head a ball with an arm extended by the head....what was his name again?...oh yeah....Maradonna

Seriously though, transport issues are seen as a big reason why people in Western Syd won't support SFC, along with not being able to identify with their "Bling" attitude. Apparently.
