What a great late birthday present that would be! Wellington v Bitumens in Wellington.
Would have to clear my plans and make a weekend of it to travel down.
Doesn't sound like it will still be that way if the 2 whinging clubs get their way however...
Fudge the Jest!
Fudge the Jest!
Was a generic Fudge the Jest, not a targeted one! I hate them and I am OK with that!
The first 5 rounds of the original draw were leaked by someone, I really hope when they do the new draw that we can push to change those first 3 weeks. Two Sunday 7pm KOs and a bye in the middle would be a terrible way to start the season.
Depends if they're timing the bye with the internatonal window but still, the points table is gonna be a mess this season. They've made pretty much any small team take the bye in the first rounds.
Not surprised we have been handed a Sunday 7pm match on the same day as Bathurst. That's been a feature of nearly every draw for the last 10 years!
Play our match at same time as the business end of the Great Race. Fudges with #metrics so audiences rate low!
Melbourne fans won’t have to wait long for derby action with the highly anticipated clash between Melbourne Victory and Melbourne City to kickstart a new-look A-League season.
An electric Melbourne derby will headline the opening round of the A-League season, with Marvel Stadium’s grandstands to be brought in for the first time in two years.
Melbourne Victory fans will be closer to the action this season, with the Docklands venue’s stands coming in for four of their five home fixtures.
Melbourne Victory and Melbourne City will lock horns with new coaches and new-look squads for their Round 1 clash, with several more derbies set to follow in ensuing weeks with the arrival of a third Victorian club.
Western United will wait until Round 2 to play its first home game at Kardinia Park, after a potentially spicy opening weekend trip to Wellington Phoenix.
United pinched coach Mark Rudan, captain Andrew Durante, A-League goalkeeper of the year Fiip Kurto and rookie sensation Max Burgess from the Kiwis.
Melbourne City host Adelaide United in their opening home game of the season at AAMI Park.
The A-League fixture is due to be released early next week, as venues are signed off and negotiations continue with Fox Sports and potential Free-to-Air partners.
It comes as the A-League prepares to officially become independent on Thursday, in a huge development for the local game.
FFA chiefs refused to comment when contacted about the fixture, with Round 1 due to kick off on October 11, after the AFL and NRL grand finals.
The grand final is set down for May 17, in a season where the A-League will play through FIFA breaks as byes return for the first time since 2010-11.
Western Sydney will feature in a prime time Saturday slot several times in their return to Parramatta Stadium (Bankwest Stadium), which was rocking for the Wanderers’ friendly with Leeds United last week.
Victory fans by enlarge prefer AAMI Park, but the move to reconfigure Marvel Stadium should go down well with the club’s growing fanbase.
The last time the terraces were brought in was Victory’s 2017-18 Round 10 clash with Adelaide United — the Star Wars round.
A-League chiefs are kicking off the season with a bang, with a Sydney derby featuring in the opening rounds of the season.
Well it’s now August. Unless the draw happens very soon it’s going to be very hard for out of town fans to pick up a cheap “grab one” ticket to any games in the first half of the season.

Goal isn't the greatest sauce but their Chief Editor reckons the draw is gonna be out on Thursday now.
Heard on Friday that the A-League draw is scheduled to be released on Thursday. Will update if any other details come through. #ALeague

I have set my hopes low for the draw this season, all I want is an away double header in Melbourne or Sydney.
Hoping the rigged draw works in our favour with bigger teams facing off against each other an extra time for the Derby money

Hoping for an away trip to WU in Ballarat.
Sydney fans have got their fixture list already sent to them

Rnd 21 Feb 28 Sydney v Nix

But that's where all the good refs get allocated to and we know how bad refs affect our games

City/Victory 3rd & 10th November + Sydney/CCM 28th Feb & 8th March
That gap from 27th Oct till 23rd November is going to suck! At least the two Auckland games are confirmed before season kicks off this year
Bye rounds are 6, 17 and 25. Quite nicely spaced out IMO
2 Games at Eden Park this year.
That gap from 27th Oct till 23rd November is going to suck! At least the two Auckland games are confirmed before season kicks off this year
There's three breaks of almost a month between games at Westpac. 27th Oct - 23rd Nov, 23rd Nov - 21st Dec and 24th Jan - 21st Feb.
Twelve Pubs most likely on the 21st? Depending on my exam schedule, would love to do an away trip to Melbourne 3-10 November.

26 | Sun 5 Apr | Adelaide United | Westpac Stadium | 6pm |
28 | Sun 19 Apr | Brisbane Roar | Westpac Stadium | 6pm |
All our home games, 11 games at Westpac and 2 at Eden Park.
2x Fri 7.30pm, 6x Sat 7.15pm and 5x Sun 6pm.
Longest break between home games is Round 3 to Round 7 at 27 days, with the next being Round 16 to Round 19 with 22.
But if just between Westpac home games, then the home games each side of the Eden Park game at home is 28 days between home Westpac games.

Hoping for an away trip to WU in Ballarat.
I get my wish. And coincides with the Boxing Day test.
Bliss.
Twelve Pubs most likely on the 21st?
Yes.
Gutted the WU game is a Sunday, but stoked there’s two games at Eden park locked in.
Teams we play three times: Brisbane, Victory, Perth, Sydney, Wanderers, Western United
Rough
And bye during Nov international window is good.

Yes, now what’s the best way to get from the MCG to Ballarat??
Looking at the first 5 games of the new season will give a good indicator of how the Nix are gelling as a team
