Evening all!

There are a few of us Scottish lads in Wellington, keen to get immersed in the NZ Football scene - we're heading to the game this Friday, but we usually go to a pub beforehand & soak up the atmosphere, banter away, etc but we're not really sure where's best to go.

Do you guys have a local or a ritual bar that's best to drink in before the game & if so, where???

Cheers in advance, a loyal Jambo

The Backbencher will also be doing the Speights range $5.50 (Gold, Old dark and Summit) and Steiny Pure (2 for $13) promo again this season, so anyone wearing Nix or Fever merchandise on Friday night qualifies for this deal.

Also the BBQ will be cranking outside and Boycie is well chuffed that Sky are showing Championship highlights so make sure you get him started on the Canaries.
(Tractor Boys fans might want to get in early on the derby bets before either teams starts showing form)

Yeah, why not. News even got me converted to drinking this stuff when I'm down for the games.

Apparently I'm apathetic, but I couldn't care less.

Scottish guy posts about wanting a drink and gets a response about discounted beer.

interesting. we probably cant do it for this Friday because we wouldn't be able to get the stock (kegs) delivered & chilled before tomorrow night.
Boycie will look into doing something with the Isaacs for upcoming games though.
FYI we are in the Beervana Passport with the cider so if you plan on filling that book, Friday night will be a chance to knock off 2 birds with 1 stone.

We were getting though pitchers of it pre-Boca so hopefully should be a return on the investment.

Is anyone going to be at the BB early i.e before 5pm? I'll be in Wellington earlier than normal so might have some time to kill. Don't want to look like a sado drinking on my own

I'm just worried that Kiwi Jambo might have found a new BFF.

A Jambo eh...

I heard that the Cambridge Hotel is best for a pre match drink...only 2 minutes from the stadium too! Definitely go there.

Ha ha ha - & I presume you must be a Hibee?? I thought you guys branched out only as far as a daysaver would get you on the Lothian buses (bout 20 mins from Easter Road ).

Back Bencher it must be then?

Also, which would be the best away game to go to? Someone said Brisbane in January would be a good one but I'm pretty clueless tbh

Should be a group at Melbourne next month as we play both Heart and Victory in 5 days.  There is a Fever tour thread somewhere.

We're a broad church, we've got a couple of token representatives of both Edinburgh sides around here.

Yeah - apparently so. Advised that it'd be the most entertaining & I'd prefer the atmosphere from there

Should be good by the sounds of things though - this is really the first time that the 3 of us guys can support the same team (Newcastle, Hearts & Hibs are the 'loves') so I'm hoping for a good game/night.

Hope we're welcome to join y'all
