Daniel gave us something a bit special, in my view. He covered a lot of ground, played some very nice balls into space - both short and long, he gave the defenders a few nervous moments and should have got a few more free kicks.

Great to see his mix of skill and effort.

But really they all put in a good shift. Lochead supported well on the left, and the centre backs looked dominant.  Oldie did well in the 2nd half.

I'm one well pleased fan!

A great start to turning the place into fortress Westpac!!

I'd say either Karl Dodd (a total rock at the back that was always there and didn't let anyone through) or Jeremy Christie in the first half. He was always supporting Daniel and had plenty of runs down the wing. He really surprised me because he was crap for the Knights and Kingz, but I suppose a year in Perth has taught him well.

Karl Dodd for me. Was excellent throughout the game and Sydney never really looked like getting the better of him. Dominated in the air and read the game very well.

Dodd and Cleberson were excellent, Lochead good too, especially first half.  Smeltz for his goals and general play.  Aloisi a superb leader.

My vote goes to Cleberson. I can't remember being so confident in a defender for an NZ based franchise. He dominated just about everything. SOLID

Excellent team effort.

Aloisi and Dodd were impressive. Smeltz was exciting to watch. Christie and Old were much better than many punters here have been suggesting they would be. Coveny is not too old. Daniel was all over the pitch looking to get involved in play.

If I have to pick one player it would be Aloisi.

Daniel and Cleberson. Look like good prospects.

Lockhead first, Dodd and Cleberson second. Smeltz lively. Aloisi bit off pace but some good touches.

For me it was Cleberson.  Soid at the back.

Aloisi put it in when it mattered, showed some class and lifted the boys I think.  Smeltz was great as well. Two very good finishes.

Have to say, the announcements to the crowd about not letting the intoxicated in made me suspicious that Feverish would miss the clubs debut.

I am amazed that

a) Feverish got in, and

b) Feverish didn't get thrown out (and banned)

The highlight for me was when he tried to start the following chant......

"YOUSH FOOTUMPH BIGSTONESH FLABSSH..."
