Was away today and unable even to listen to the game,  however home now and disappoint that we didnt hold on to win, but pleased that we picked up a point with so many players unavailable.  Why do you think the crowd was so poor today.

May have something to do with netball  world champ final.

I agree it is the same old familiar stupid mistakes under pressure which have cost the Phoenix plenty of points- stupid idiotic loss of possession , careless back passes which go to the opposition strikers and loss of concentration in the final minutes.
You don't concede penalties in the final minute by grabbing hold of someones shirt in your penalty area

Ricki would have been livid

Maybe some of the supporters are getting sick of watching theses mistakes

i reckon it was the netball, i know 5 people who chose that who've been to all but 1 Nix game

that's why i was hoping the ferns had lost in the semi (still would have been better than the all blacks and we'd have had a bigger crowd)

thought the crowd where in great voice tonight though

splitting up the fever zone, may not be the disaster we thought it was gonna be

the all whites attendance on wednesday could be quite sad

I think some fans stayed away because we were missing some leading players. Yet those who stood in certainly stood up to be counted and might have put the pressure on some!
Proud to have attended the first 175 Consecutive "Home" Wellington Phoenix "A League" Games !!

Don't discount the fact that we've had some sh*t results on the road.

Crowd figures will rebound after today's encouraging performance.

Everyone now needs to get into WHITE NOISE and support the All Whites on Wednesday!

Incredible stamina. No shame. Yellow Fever.

Or some might be going to the All Whites instead?

Anyone know what ticket sales are like for that game?  Hopefully sell quite a few more after they won the first leg today.

What was it - 8500? That's a decent crowd I think. It's an unfortunate fact that when your team loses 4 ot of 5 games the fair-weathers will tend to um and ah before making the pilgrimmage.

Kudos to all who went. The boys were really lifted by that support; I could hear and see that all the way from Australia!

im like all of you guys and gals, no matter what the weather etc i will always be at the phoenix matches to support the team, i saw there was 8,607 something like that, thats still good considering our average attendance is 11,010 or something (it was in the programme), what a great match, shame at the end again, I have my tix for all whites match, i will be there on wednesday, although before then theres a very important match for my country Scotland at 6am tommorow morning against Italy at hampden, we need to win to qualify for Euro 2008, so im not going to think about the all whites till after the match tommorow.

Btw congragulations all whites on winning 2-1 today!!

the crowd looked very sparse at kick-off but grew in the first quarter hour - and after the dire warnings from Tony P about policing of the YF zone I was very pleased how relaxed it all still was - there did seem to be less in the prawn zone, tho'.

I think having it at 7:00pm may have been a reason. I play cricket and missed the first ten minutes of the match and i rushed in as soon as it finished.

Netball is more popular than football?

Is there a more pussywhipped country in the world???????

Two of my flatmates were going to come, but elected to watch the netball instead. I'm going to try and get them to come to the Vanuatu match as compensation

Seeing the low number stung, but I guess I can write it off as circumstantial. We're still doing better than Auckland ever did though :D

I reckon the netball world cup final kept a lot of people (and whole families) away as well as the team missing the internationals might have had an effect. Total bummer to draw like that at the end, but on reflection, after getting over the emotion of dropping 2 points in the last minute, we did ok. Our keeper saved 2 or 3 near certain goals and he won us our point without a doubt. Watching the Phoenix is still the best entertainment in NZ by far.

Netball maybe but its definatly taken a hit because of Toast Martinbourgh tomorrow. Town was very quiet and traditionally is when a big event like this is on.

YFZ was lagging a bit. Largely due to a group relocating. Was that because of the stewards? I dont think we were as effective because of it.

the fever werent responsible for giving the fakking ball away in midfield with a minute to go.

keep on with this basic stupidity on the pitch and soon we'll be saying 8k is a sensational crowd.
