Yellow Fever has bought a table at a football fundraising quiz to be held at the Brierley Theatre, Wellington College on the evening of Friday 23 April. We have 10 spots at our table, with Smithy, myself and Feverish confirmed starters. If you want one of the remaining 7 spots please say so on this thread.
"The 2010 11th grade Waterside Karori 1st team have been invited to participate in a training clinic and tournament operated by the River Plate Football Academy of Melbourne in September 2010. The River Plate Football Academy offers professional c oaching by football coaches affiliated with the River Plate Football Club of Argentina.
This is an excellent opportunity to experience international football firsthand and to measure performance against Melbourne teams. The players involved are a talented and hard working group of 10 and 11 year olds. The majority were part of the 10th grade promo team who enjoyed a successful season in 2009. Their commitment to the game and to improving their skills was reflected in their finishing 2nd place in a round robin of 15 very competitive games. The team plans to have another excellent year in 2010 and are currently enjoying summer training.
Efforts to fundraise for Melbourne are underway. In particular a quiz and auction is to be held in the Brierley Theatre, Wellington College on Friday 23 April 2010. We plan for it to be a fun and well run night. The theme of the night will be World Cup Football.
We anticipate that the quiz/auction evening will be well attended by approximately 300 people. "
