I would put...

Nathan Burns
Bruce Djite
Sasho Petrovski
Shane Smeltz
Archie Thompson

...ahead of him.

Plus Griffiths strikes me as a cheating, diving, whinging t**ser.

That'll be "no" from me then.

He's a diving, whiny, cheating little toe-rag and they day the Phoenix sign him is the day I move to Australia and become a Sydney fan (well, maybe not Sydney, maybe the Mariners).

I'd like to think we expect higher standards of our Phoenix players than to even consider signing that litlle*&^%.

So, that's a no from me... and if it was up to me the poll itself is enough to see you banned.

Ha, I never read LF1's post when I wrote that... the similarities disturb me.

I will be watching you closely Mr Kaant as I suspect you are a troll and as such about as welcome here as Joel Griffiths.

No from me, there are just some people you hope your club never signs. It'd be like Man U signing Louis Saha.......um, scratch that.

Ok guys, 1st off I shant be causing trouble on this forum at all,
I was on the amriners forum and asked the same question and one guy asked me to ask around other forums, so thats what I'm doing, nothing more.

Archie (when he is in form), and burns yes,

the others seriously; smeltz is only good when he has daniel and felipe working off him, and doesn't have that much variety about him, sasho petrovski u have to be kidding right.. good finsisher thats about it, Djite is a promising young gun but atm is not at joels level,

with joel you have the whole package, fast (proably 1 of the fastet in the league), strong, doesnt give up (anyone remeber the 2 goals he scored in injury time agaisnt perth last year to get us into the semis???), 100% committed to the cause( probaly why he is always chattin to the refs, yes sumtiems too much but)

Soo going of what you are saying about him (diving whinger etc) you wouldn't take christiano Ronaldo???

He is a very good player, but he's a complete and utter cock and that outweighs any skill he may or may not have.

NZ teams don't like to have t**sers in their ranks. That's what sets us apart from Aussie teams.

There's no doubt that any player identified by reputation as a diver/cheat/whinger etc etc has their football abilities diminished as a result. Doesn't matter who they are. The worst ones are those that cheat by diving etc but are quite happy to be the axeman when they have to be.  You build or destroy your own reputation, nobody does it for you. Players that develop a reputation for being cheats don't get it for no reason though.

Yes i agree to a point, he is sometimes over the top but most of the time that is just his passion for the game and his club showing through.

I wonder if he didn't 'attempt' to hit the ref, would uze still dislike him.

If you guys had him felipe and daniel, you would be even better chances to win the comp (I rate you guys as good chances to win it btw)

IMO his 'diving' which everyone points out is not as much of an issue as everyone makes out. Sure he has dived, but honestly what pro players hasn't taken a dive in todays game??? Its usually his pace  and with the slightest clip on the ankles etc of course he would go tumbling over.

I'd have him. Needs to score more though

Good player. I felt he was the most likely against the Phoenix. Sometimes his own worst enemy.

I think it would be this way towards the end of the season

If we were top of the table......    NO way
If we were mid table....... yes/no.... maybe......actually no thanks
If we were skanked on the bottom of the table......   welcome brother

But where we are now, with a very positive mood and building our team and culture the same way, there aint no place for him

I'd like us to sign him, and then the team could wrap him in a sheet and batter him with tyre irons.  Then we could throw the unconcious body intp the harbour, weighed down with dumb-bells.

Then we could fish the body out when he is dead, paint it pink and hang it off the front of the Wellington railway station to remind other aussies not to dive and cheat when they come to the ring of fire.

All I do is make the stuff I would've liked
Reference things I wanna watch, reference girls I wanna bite
Now I'm firefly like a burning kite
And yousa fake fuck like a fleshlight

Why sign him?

Just sneak into his house and do it.

Most people on this forum hated him well before that incident.

The troll has a point. The thing is I don't like that kind of player in the team I support; I want hard but fair players, not show-ponies and tanty chuckers, no matter how good they are. I know Ronaldo and Rooney are brilliant - doesn't change the fact that they're both effing childish little cheating prats. And I've never liked the Joel 'The Loin King' Griffiths either.
I'd have a hard time cheering him.

Where was the 'HELL NO' option?? He is over rated. I prefer the forwards we already have. Sure he might be more talented than Brownlie for example but at least Brownlie has the right attitude when playing football. Promote one of the young fellas before signing Griffiths.

Of course we would - for all our protesting to the contrary.  He's a useful player who slapped a cock in the cock.  Big deal.  Selhurst Park, 25 January 1995, The Kick!  Eric is still a hero.  What if the poll asked: If you had to have one Newcastle Jets player would it be Joel Griffiths or Mario Jardel?  Okay, that's an unfair question....
Selhurst Park, 25 January 1995
What else could he have done?

Jardel! he'd be a huge influence

I think I'd have Griffiths rather than Jardel. At least you'd still be able to get a pie at the game if Griffiths came.....

Apparently I'm apathetic, but I couldn't care less.

Neither - I'd take Stuart Musialik over both of them

I like Adam Griffiths though.
