Good to get a point considering we played 65 with 10 men. But still disappointing not to be waking away with all 3 as we came sooo close.
Fair result overall. If Adelaide is deemed to be "devoid of quality" by some, we would have swept them off the park. However, I think they had a much better pressing game overall, ruined by terrible conversion quality in the box (14 corners to Phoenix one). A draw is what it was worth to both parties.

Lewis and Kosta have done very well for the goal and Urgarkovic looks like much more of a threat getting into the box.
Zawada looks decent, but Waine is a cracking strong player now. London buses!
Hard to say how we will play as we looked good on the counter. Kraev was repetitively fouled, tightly marked sometimes with two players, for which the opposition didn’t receive any cards. Sasse probably would have looked quite good playing on the counter too.

We needed Pennington on the pitch in the last 10 minutes. Not in the dressing room. In the end he's the only player that nick's the ball off of the opponent.

Credit to the team. If Oli Sail doesn't get hit in the nuts he probably saves that.

Going in to the game I would have taken a draw. There are a lot of positive signs out of todays game, a lot to work on also. I think the red was harsh with how much Sasse pulled out after clearly slipping, VAR should have overturned to a yellow, but thems the breaks. Looked a red in real time for sure. Considering the other games this weekend I think we look a solid top 4 team. Interesting to see how that changes with form and fitness working in during the season. Still, I feel like it was my nuts and not Ollie's that took a hit. Glad to see Waine getting a goal, I really hope he kicks on this season, he has a lot of good attributes and still only 21.

I was thinking 8k isn't too bad considering last year's grand finalists MC and WU only got 7 in their opening game. It's kind of in keeping with the general downward trend in A League crowds.
Another couple of thousand would've been nice though and looks a lot better on the tele.
